Our client an Insurance Company presently implementing a bold Blue Ocean Strategy, seeks to recruit performance driven persons to drive the new vision in the positions below:

Position: Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer

Qualification

  • Candidate should possess Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in insurance . Acturial Science or underwriting or any other good first degree not lower than second class.
  • Masters degree with specialization in Marketing Management would be an added advantage
  • Must be an Associate/Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Insurance
  • An MBA from a reputable institution would be an added advantage.

Summary

In line with the new strategic direction, the MD/CEO is required to drive with entrepreneurial zeal the performance of the company in line with strategic plans to meet and exceed set corporate goals. Reporting to the Board of Directors, he/she will be required to:

  • Lead in the development and implementation of corporate policies and strategic planning
  • Ensure employee commitment to the corporate vision, values and strategies
  • Ensure effective business planning and control to maintain the financial integrity of the company
  • Recruit, direct and develop senior staff and manage their performance
  • Establish operational priorities and the allocation of resources in accordance with the Company’s mandate, mission and business plans
  • Remain abreast of public events that effect policies and objectives of the company
  • Provide the Board of Directors with all relevant information and recommendations to allow them to make informed policy decisions.
  • Ensure that the company has adequate financial resources to meet its mandate.

The Person

Must be in good health and should not be less than 40 years of age.

Must have 15-20 years of Hands on experience in managing all the divisions of an insurance company including Technical, Energy, Marketing, Relationship Management, Business Development, Corporate Services and Branch Operations.

Qualification

Candidate must possess Bachelor of Science in Insurance. Actuarial Science or underwriting or any other good first degree not lower than second class.

Associate/Fellow Membership of the chartered institute of insurance will be a strong advantage.

Summary

Reporting  to the MD/CEO. The role of the operations is to drive the day to day operations of the company to meet and exceed set corporate objectives. Specifically he/she

  • Shall be responsible for supporting the CEO as the Chief Operating  Officer
  • Shall ensure a high level of hands on ability to deliver superior services
  • Shall be responsible for ensuring a very strong back up team to deliver in terms of claims management and  appropriate product design.
  • Shall be responsible for recruiting and developing a very strong retail business unit.
  • Shall be responsible for ensuring zero defect as far as  timely claims payment is concerned
  • Shall be responsible for developing a very strong market presence with brokers and Re-insurance companies as well as the regulators.
  • Shall provide the Board of Directors with all relevant information and recommendations need to allow them make informed policy decisions.

The Person

Must be in good health and should not be less than 35 years of age

Must 10-15 years of hand on experience in managing all the divisions of an insurance company including Technical, Energy, Marketing, Relationship Management, Business Development, Corporate Services and Branch Operations.
