Vacancies: Global Fund Director, Programme Officer/HIV
The Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), is a national non-governmental organization promoting Reproductive Health (RH) in Nigeria, As a member of the international Planned Parenthood Federate (IPPF), PPFN has expanded the scope of its programs beyond family planning to cover broad reproductive health, emphasizing the needs of adolescents and young people and safe motherhood, PPFN seeks suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions:
Position: Global Fund Director (GFD 2011)
Location: National Headquarters, Abuja
Responsibilities:
The purpose of this position is to organize and coordinate the planning and implementation of the Global Fund Project activities of PPFN and to strengthen the capacity of the SRs to improve their effectiveness in responding to local health needs.
Requirements:
- Master level degree in Public Health or Social Sciences or equivalent
- Ten years relevant work experience including five years in NGO (preferably in Reproductive Health)
- Experience in Global Fund project implementation preferred.
- Proven experience in leading the development and management of donor-funded collaborative projects on HIV/AIDS and related interventions.
- Proven experience in developing and effectively managing government, other stakeholder and partner relationships.
- Excellent diplomatic, presentation, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Excellent contextual and analytical skills
- Team leadership and team playing qualities/experience
- Familiarity with key national and international implementing support and donor organizations in RH,
- Advanced computer literacy skis.
- Strong knowledge of NGO operations particularly those in reproductive health inducing family planning, maternal and child health, women development and program management,
- Research experience (design, data collection and analysis, and survey methods). Familiarity with varied socio-cultural issues as they relate to reproductive health in the country and sensitivity to cross cultural issues and concerns.
Position: Programme Officer/HIV (PO/HIV 2011)
Location: National Headquarters, Abuja
Responsibilities:
The purpose of this position is to manage the implementation of the Global
Fund HIV initiatives and plane and to work closely with the GF team members in the development and actualization of the project’s yearly HIV strategic plan.
Requirements:
- Degree in Public Health or Social Sciences or equivalent
- Five years relevant work experience including 3 years in NGO (preferably in Reproductive Health (RH)
- Knowledge and experience of Global Fund implemented projects
- Experience in supporting the development and implementation of donor-funded collaborative projects on HIV/AIDS and related interventions
- Experience in developing and managing government other stakeholder and partner relationships.
- Excellent contextual, analytical, writing and oral communication skills
- Good team playing qualities /experience
- Familiarity with key national and international implementing support and donor organization in RH.
- Computer literacy skills
- Sensitive and caring but firm and decisive in managing relationship with colleagues.
