Experience and Competencies Required
- OND minimum in marketing or public relations

- Previous experience in a service industry preferable
- Pass mark on trainability tests
- Sound interpersonal tests
- High mental alertness
- Well presented with good deportment

Job Summary:
To assist the executive Sous Chef in the preparation cooking and garnishing of meals; mise-en-place.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares all meat products for menu items Ensure correct cuts of all meat products and menu items Cooks dishes, e.g. meats, mise-en-place sauces, vegetables etc. under the direction of the Executive Chef Prepare roasts, vegetable dishes and garnish before service and serve dishes from the pass and/or on the buffet Assist with preparation of all mise-en-place in sufficient quantity for the day’s business.
- May prepare breakfast/lunch dishes a minute, e.g. steaks, meats, fried eggs, omelets, vegetables, soups etc.
- Ensure that all food is prepared hygienically and to the highest standard of quality and presentation with the minimum of wastage Maintains a clean and orderly working environment
- Ensure that all required preparation are ready at least 30 minutes before the service commences May work in all areas of the kitchen in order to gain experience to different functions, so as to eventually be able to perform the tasks carried out by qualified cooks May be called upon to perform comparable duties as requested by kitchen management
Experience and Competencies Required
OND or HND Catering & Hotel Management Minimum 2 years experience in a 5 star F&B environment Good verbal skills English essential knowledge of Kitchen equipment Knowledge of food control an advantage Health and Hygiene course Meat handling /cutting skills Well groomed, good appearance and common sense Team player Positive attitude to fellow employees and guests Attention to detail
