Position: Group Head Internal Audit (Ref: M – 07)
This challenging role makes a significant contribution to the survival and continuous improvement of the Group’s business processes and controls, ensuring compliance with approved procedures, promoting accountability and transparency in business operations
Key Accountabilities
- Develops and coordinates the implementation of approved internal audit strategies and work programmes across the Group’s operations
- Provides leadership of the Internal audit function ensuring that, the operating policy guidelines, procedures, and performance standards address the Groups operational needs
- Ensures that the operations of the Internal Audit Function promote Group-wide compliance with approved policies and internal business control procedures
- Maintains on-going Liaison with subsidiaries and other functional units to ensure successful implementation of audit plans
- Monitors the effectiveness of established business control policies, processes and procedures and reviews /updates as appropriate.
- Communicates identified weaknesses in controls to management and recommends workable solutions.
- Conducts ad hoc investigations and handles issues arising from audit exercises.
- Investigates violations of the organization’s operational procedures and makes recommendations on appropriate preventive or remedial action.
- Provides accurate and objective reports/updates to inform and guide management on the state of compliance with control procedures across the Group.
- Liaises with Finance Department and the organization’s external auditors for the successful coordination of annual audit.
- Assess degree and advises on the requirements for compliance with laws, regulations and code of business practices
- Ensures that the Group’s business and operational risks are rigorously profiled and managed
Skills and Competencies:
The position requires deep knowledge of business drivers and risk/control factors in the oil and gas business value chain, sound grasps of business control policies and procedures. Strong analytical and excellent planning skills, leadership and ability to pay attention to details, drive, enthusiasm and capacity to extend the boundaries of the role are critical requirements for success. Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications and ability to maintain proper records and prepare detailed I reports are also essential skills for this role.
Education and Experience:
- First degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline and relevant professional qualification e.g. ACA, ACCA.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience work experience of which 5 years must have been at management level.
- A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
Position: Group Head Human Resources (Ref: M – 08)
This role contributes significantly to the achievement of the Group’s mission critical business objectives by ensuring availability and productive utilization of human resources. The role focuses on implementing human capital policies and solutions that enable management effectiveness in attracting, developing, motivating and retaining the right calibre of staff for the Group’s business operations.
Key Accountabilities
- Develops upgrades and implements approved people management strategies, policies and programmes which align with and support the Group’s business strategy and key business objectives.
- Communicates Group wide human resources management strategies, policies, initiatives and plans to business and functional units to ensure understanding, buy-in and standards of application.
- Provides strong oversight leadership to enable effective delivery of HR strategy across the Group’s business
- Works collaboratively with heads of subsidiary companies/strategic business units and line management to determine key performance requirements, develop people within the business units, ensure delivery focused HR interventions that add value to business operations
- Directs and takes responsibility for all matters concerning employment legislation and contract issues to ensure that Group liabilities are managed and there is compliance with relevant laws
- Coordinates the design and implementation or career development programmes in line with the Group’s training and talent enhancement strategies
- Develops and provides guidance on the implementation of succession management framework to ensure availability of high calibre replacement for every key role across the Group’s operations.
- Directs and motivates staff of the HR function to ensure effectiveness in service delivery in line with approved service level agreements (SLAs)
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal person for this role must have deep technical and up-to-date knowledge of strategic human resource management imperatives, good knowledge of Group HR operational objective and accountabilities, leadership and mentoring capabilities. Success in this rote demands sound judgment, initiative and discretion at all times with strong interpersonal communication, project and change management skills. Proficiency in the use of MS Office suite i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Human Resource Information Management Systems (HRIMS).
Education and Experience:
- First degree in Human Resource Management or any Social Science discipline. Possession of higher degree gives advantage
- Relevant professional qualification in HR Management e.g. CIPM (Chartered Institute of Personnel Management), CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development), SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) is essential.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience of which 5 years must have been at management level.
