Vacancies: Programme Officer, Farm Manager
Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), a Catholic, not-for-profit, social service non-governmental organization concerned with the promotion of Socio-economic development and the protection of Human Right under the umbrella of the Catholic Arcdiocese of Ibadan, invites suitable candidates to apply for the positions below.
Position: Programme Officer
Responsibilities
- Networking and Liaising with stakeholders and donors
- Plan and lead program actions including development of strategies for policy lobbying and advocacy
- Provide strategic leadership and overall supervision of programme activities
- Visit programme areas regularly
- Ensure that the overall project is implemented in accordance with approved project documents, annual plans and budgets
- Organize and/or facilitate internal sessions with regards to reviews, evaluations and project preparations
- Organize and facilitate workshops and conferences
- Work with Police and Prison authorities
- Carry out both Civil and Criminal litigations
- Should have good Legal Drafting Skills
Qualification and Experience
- Candidates must be a Barrister and Solicitor
- Must have at least 5 years post call working experience in litigations preferably from a reputable NGO
- Should be a computer literate
- Must be fluent in English and Yoruba
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to work under considerable pressure without supervision
- Possess coordination, facilitation and networking skills
- Must have high level self-motivation and ability to work both independently as well as with others
- A valid Drive’s License will be an added advantage
Position: Farm Manager
(Note: 2 year renewable contract on the pilot project Community service)
Responsibilities
- Overall management of the farm
- Formulation of feed for farm animals, including procurement of feed where necessary Procurement of quality farm inputs (seeds fertilizers and farm implements)
- Profitable marketing of farm products ,
- Supervision of the work of subordinates
- Maintenance of Farm situation
- Any other duties as may be assigned by management
Qualification and Experience
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor degree or HND in Agriculture with strong bias in animal production
- Minimum of three years experience as a farm manager in a reputable farm
- Proven evidence of having successfully managed a viable integrated livestock production enterprise (Pigs, sheep and goat, fish and poultry)
- Computer literacy will be an added advantage
- Not more than 40 years of age.
Note: The positions is for 2 year renewable contract on the pilot project Community service
Remuneration: Is attractive and negotiable
