Vacancies: Director-Planning and Statistics, Laboratory Technical Officer
The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria has a 5-year Cooperative Agreement with the United States Government Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) for the purpose of mentoring all tiers of Nigeria’s Public Laboratory System to advance them towards National Accreditation under PEPFAR by Council
MLSCN is therefore recruiting senior-level managers and technical experts to provide services towards driving continuing quality improvement of public health laboratories for national accreditation.
Position: Director, Planning and Statistics
The Director Planning and Statistics will help to gather data, carry out detailed analysts on data collected, write reports based on analysis carried out and submit report to the various departments of MLSCN for necessary implementation. S/he is also to evaluate staff and project performance periodically and give recommendation where necessary; Provide technical assistance and support to team members in the design of project/protocols: provide technical support to project staff to build capacity when appropriate.
Minimum Requirement:
- PhD in Public Health, Health Planning and Statistics or related field with diverse experience including web portal management and minimum of 15 years of cognate experience in related project.
- Experience must reflect the knowledge, skill and abilities in monitoring and evaluation. Registration with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria will be an added advantage.
Position: Laboratory Technical Officer
The LTO will provide technical assistance and support to other technical project staff in the implementation of project activities in the selected laboratories across the six Geo-political zones. Develop and plan implementation strategies for selected activities of the project. Assign activities to other technical project staff. Develop a strategy for maintaining a mutual working relationship with other stakeholders such as the FMOH, CDC etc. Work with the M and E unit on analysis and interpretation of data. Partner with other project staff to develop advocacy packs for the project.
Minimum Requirement:
- Medical Laboratory Scientist with 10 years of cognate experience in related project. Work experience must reflect the knowledge, skill and abilities. Post graduate qualification in monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage. Registration with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria as well as previous experience in laboratory accreditation will be an added advantage.
