Our client is a leading group of companies that provides multi-disciplinary financial services to a wide range of clients across industries, including insurance, asset management pension services, trusteeship and real estate investment. The company is currently implementing key strategic initiatives aimed at expanding its operations and is seeking to recruit a focused, result-oriented and suitably qualified professional to fill the position below:
Position: Group Head, Human Resources
The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring adequate management support by means of polices, systems , tools and procedures which fit within the corporate guidelines, in the area of Human Resources Management , in order to contribute to the realization of the business goals of the Group.
Specific Responsibilities will include to:
- Provide overall strategic leadership, direction and guidance to the Human Resources Department
- Lead the formulation and implementation of the Group’s resourcing strategy in alignment with key business strategies in order to realize an optimal staffing level.
- Develop HR analytics and measurements around current employee population (turnover, demographics, etc).
- Develop and institute strong integrity and high ethical standards, as well as, establishing a goal/result oriented performance driven culture.
- Oversee the development of learning and development initiatives and interventions that will qualify employees to meet the set requirements in the short and longer term.
- Overhaul the Group’s HR systems and processes.
- Provide expertise and deployment of standardized tools & processes in career management, including performance management, development planning, competency frameworks, and competency based assessments focused on improving individual and organizational performance and succession management.
- Ensure the availability of equitable and competitive compensation and benefits package in line with corporate policies and to be able to attract, keep and motivate the employees.
- Execute action plans for internal communications in order to contribute to an optimal business and working climate and maintain a good working relationship with institutions, authorities and interest groups and to contribute to a positive image in the community. Initiate and develop proposals for design, modification and or change of the organizational structure and contribute to the implementation of these changes in order to support business activities.
- Ensure the development and maintenance of personnel administration guidelines, procedures and systems in order to provide management with relevant control and steering information to support the realization of the approved operational plan and budget.
Qualifications, Experience and attributes
- A Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in a relevant field. Possession of higher degree(s) and relevant professional qualifications bodies such as CIPD, SHRM and CIPM will be an advantage.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in human resources management, five (5) of which must have been spent in a management role.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of HRM strategies, systems and leading practices in the areas of recruitment, manpower planning and development, career management and performance management; and compensation and benefit management.
- Knowledge of IT based HR systems such as Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), e-recruitment and learning management system.
- Good knowledge of corporate strategy.
- Knowledge of labour laws and demonstrable ability to relate with labour unions will be an advantage.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
