The Bank is currently executing key strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening its operations and consolidating its position as a market leader, in line with this drive, the Bank seeks to recruit focused, energetic, results-oriented professionals, with track record of outstanding achievements to join its dynamic business teams in the following areas:

 

Position:     Chief Operations Officer (ES00618)

Reporting to the Group Managing Director, the successful candidate will have oversight responsibility for all back-office functions across the Bank covering Operations, Information Technology and Support Services/Admin. A major focus will be to champion the formulation and implementation of strategies, plans and programmes towards the effective support of the Bank’s business goals and objectives. Inherent in this role is the ability to ensure that revenue generating divisions are given the right infrastructure to deliver their KPIs – service excellence and cost management. Specific responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide strategic guidance and direction to the various groups in the execution of their functions and activities.
  • Formulate and recommend to the CEO, strategies and guidelines to effectively translate and cascade the corporate vision to operational levels.
  • Drive the development of annual operating plans and requirements, including staffing and budgets that support the Bank’s strategic plan and overall business aspirations.
  • Ensure the continuous review and assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Bank’s policies, procedures and processes.
  • Achieve cost efficiency and effective utilization of the resources of the Bank, in order to meet set performance targets.

 

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

  • A good first degree from a reputable institution. Possession of higher degree(s) or relevant professional qualification(s) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of eighteen (18) years relevant banking experience, including extensive experience at senior management level.
  • Proven experience in more than two major areas of banking and demonstrable knowledge of banking operations, products and services.
  • Excellent business acumen, financial and commercial knowledge
  • Excellent leadership, negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Excellent networking skills, particularly relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking, high creativity and problem-solving skills.
