Position:     Business Development Manager- Engineering

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Engineering qualification preferably with a Masters Degree in Business Administration.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • 8 -12 years experience in Business Development function Experience in Oil, Gas, Energy and Marine sectors, international experience. dealt with global clients, minimum 5 years experience in Nigerian Market.

 

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Exceptional customer awareness and sales skills in the business development and marketing aspects in the oil and gas industry with ability to market EPC or Fabrication and construction services to the various oil companies.
  • Fully conversant in modern computer aided planning technologies and Operations Management processes.
  • Techno commercial skills to be able to deal with contractual and financial conditions in bids.
  • Excellent Networking skills
  • Candidates should have strong links to industry and knowledge of the business drivers for our key markets
  • Large experience selling EPC projects to Operators

 

Job Description:

Developing and pursing new opportunities for the purpose of promoting and marketing the Oil and Gas EPC business of Japaul Engineering to the various Oil and Gas majors in the Nigerian markets.

  • Maximize contact with key accounts, key contacts and other critical people at various client organizations and focus efforts to obtain new work and generation of new enquiries for the business
  • Work in synergy with a support team of country and proposal to proactively sell the Company in the Upstream Market, including feasibility studies, FEEDs, DEED, and EPCs.
  • Actively participate in the proposals commercial, contractual, legal and economic aspects, coordinating the contractual aspects and the financial and tax requirements. Conduct a comprehensive follow-up of the proposals until awarded.
  • Identify and develop relationships with the key decision-makers, uncover new business opportunities, recommend value added solutions, and develop a winning strategy (i.e. partnerships, subcontracts, etc).
  • Manage the Sales and Business Development process /pipeline for business to ensure the Division achieves sales targets in all businesses.
  • Ensure prequalification of the organization with existing and potential customers, to enable us to be in a position to bid for projects within our sphere of capabilities.
  • Identify and pre-qualify business opportunities and make recommendations to the organization, assuring Company’s participation in the bidding stage.
  • To ensure that the enquiries are screened and to determine a sales strategy, risk identification, profit potential and analysis, and to ensure communication of customer needs and expectations between Japaul and the client.
  • Ensure liaison with other departments as appropriate in relation to proposals, projects, legal, financing, tax, or other issues.
  • Foster and develop positive customer relationships which result in increased business. Understand customer needs and assist in the  development of project solutions that satisfy those requirements and provide opportunities for Japaul Engineering
  • Liaison with Tendering Manager, Estimation and Finance on submission of bid documents.
  • Interact with Head of Subsidiary to maintain relationships with customers during project execution, especially from the point of generating additional work orders.
  • Provide inputs to management based on market information to enable the organization to develop capability in areas to give us strategic leverage for future projects.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence for new projects and opportunities.
  • Assist in initial planning, time scheduling, histograms and theoretical Curves to supplement techno-commercial offer for large projects.

 

 

Position:     Proposal/Tendering Manager

Minimum Qualification

  • Beng. in Engineering with minimum of 10 years cognate experience in Oil and Gas with at least 5 years of experience working in a proposal/Tender environment at a similar level.
  • Ability to co-ordinate a group of multi-disciplined people in order to deliver a proposal on time and at the level of quality required.
  • To adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality regarding tendering business.

 

Job Description:

  • Develop, maintain and ensure application of the Group Tendering Procedure on all tenders. Manage process of establishing tenders and proposals
  • Responsible for the overall coordination of the tender including preparation of accurate and economic costing and assessment of risk and competition. Compile the final tender package in compliance with all processes, procedures and principals
  • Ensure tenders are compiled in accordance with the key milestones for all deliverables and quality of the proposal. In the case of major tenders, develop a schedule for the tendering process and monitor the actual progress to ensure that the deliverables dates are achieved
  • Carryout initial review and summarizing of ITT packages and guide management on “Bid” or “No Bid”,
  • Coordination of all subcontractor ITT and evaluations
  • Compiling the commercial qualifications to ensure compliance with all commercial principals
  • Responsible and ensuring timely delivery of the tender documents and close out of tenders negotiations
  • Liaise with clients, HODs, agencies, regulators, and other stakeholders in putting a tender together and dealing with required clarifications and necessary negotiations
  • Track and advice management on all key events and progress in relation to tenders
  • Organize Kick off meetings, Pre-Tender and Tender Boards review.
  • Supervise the project cost estimate, cash flow, and schedule including contingency.
  • Review the cost estimate prepared by the Estimator and ensures all activities have been included.
  • Liaise with Legal Department for contractual qualifications to be addressed to Customer.
  • Ensure all technical, contractual, schedule and cost estimation input needed to meet tender requirements is collected
  • Assisting the business development team in the pursuit of  future business.
  • Liaise with Technical, operations and logistics departments on operational issues.
  • Point of contact for potential and sub contractors
