Our client a forward looking State Government in the Niger Delta has mandated us to carry out an executive recruitment exercise to acquire a qualified and high achieving workforce for its Revenue Service. The potential candidates will be obligated to strengthen the Service, build each Directorate to meet the goals and objectives and ensure consistent achievement of superior results for the Service:

 

 

Position:     Head Tax Revenue I Paye/WHT (Ref: HPA/001)

 

Job Role:

  • Development of strategies towards expansion of the PAYE/WHT tax base of the state and effective collection of same
  • Development, implementation and management of an effective framework for monitoring PAYE/WHT collections
  • With approval of the Director Tax Operations, set revenue targets for key staff of the unit towards the achievement of the overall revenue target for key staff of the unit towards the achievement of the overall revenue target
  • Monitor the collection of PAYE/WHT taxes and prepare required reports on collaboration
  • In collaboration with the internal Audit unit and the Tax audit unit evaluate effectiveness of the collection framework in place and recommend improvements
  • Ensure the maintenance of proper records and books of accounts on all PAYE/WHT taxes realized by the Service

 

Competency Requirements:

  • Experience in selling up and critically reviewing operational performance: deep experience and know ledge of Nigerian Tax System; top notch service orientation with demonstrable hands-on work experience in the service industry; good organizational, leadership and supervisory skills.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Degree in Accountancy, Economics, Finance, Banking, Management or Administration
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience out of which 5 years must be in management position in large public or private sector or international multilateral institution
  • Membership of any or a combination of the following professional bodies: ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, CITN, CIBN, NIMARK
  • Masters Degree, preferably an MBA

Position:     Head, Public Tax/ Ministerial (Ref: HPA/002)

 

  • Development of strategies towards expansion of the Public Sector/Ministerial tax base of the state and effective collection of same
  • Development, implementation and management of an effective framework for monitoring tax and other revenue collections from Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAS).
  • With approval of the Director Tax Operations, set revenue targets for key staff of the unit towards the achievement of the overall revenue target of the unit.
  • Ensure the maintenance of proper records and books of accounts on all revenue realized by the Service from MDAs.
  • Supervise the preparation and submission of revenue collection reports on a weekly basis
  • Ensure daily bank reconciliations and reporting on all bank accounts of the service with regards to MDA lodgments.

 

Competency Requirements:
