Vacancies: Head, Tax Academy, Head Training Management Unit

Our client a forward looking State Government in the Niger Delta has mandated us to carry out an executive recruitment exercise to acquire a qualified and high achieving workforce for its Revenue Service. The potential candidates will be obligated to strengthen the Service, build each Directorate to meet the goals and objectives and ensure consistent achievement of superior results for the Service:

Position:     Head, Tax Academy (Ref: HPA/025)

 

  • In collaboration with the Executive Chairman and Directors of the Service facilitate the engagement of world class consultant for the development of academic framework and broad training curriculum for the tax academy
  • In collaboration with the Executive Chairman and Directors of the Service procure the services of consultants and contractors for the design and development of a physical master plan of the Academy
  • In collaboration with the Executive Chairman and Directors of the Service engage contractors for the implementation of the physical master plan
  • Establish and implement a framework for reviewing and updating the training curriculum of the academy.
  • Planning, organizing and conducting the induction training courses for the probationers as well as organizing in-service training programmes for senior officers of the Department.
  • Ensure on-going, long-term improvement of employees’ skills so that they can fulfil their potential within the Service.

 

Minimum Qualification:

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, industrial Relations or other Business oriented discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience of which at least 5 should be in management position in large public or private sector or international multilateral institution.
  • Must have headed the training department of best practice organization
  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working/leading in a team-based environment
  • Relevant professional affiliation such as CIPM, CNIM, IRLS, CTTN, ICAN, etc.
  • A second degree in a HR related programme, preferably an MBA

 

 

Competency Requirements:

Extensive knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law, Knowledge of principles and procedures for HR practices and processes; Deep knowledge in corporate training; Good organizational, leadership and supervisory skills; knowledge of business objectives and strategies; Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects; Strong communication skills; Service Orientated; IT Skills.

 

 

 

Position:     Head Training Management Unit (Ref: HPA/026)

 

  • Participate in the reviewing and updating of training curriculum of the academy
  • Managing the relationship between the academy and faculty members
  • Assist in planning, organizing and conducting the induction training courses for the probationers as well as organizing in-service training programmes for senior officers of the Department.
  • Facilitate the preparation of course materials, background papers etc, for the courses to be conducted from time to time on the basis of research studies.
  • Coordination of all training programmes of the academy
  • Handle all training programme logistics
  • Device individual learning for in-house courses
  • Evaluate training and development programmes

 

Minimum Qualification:
