Vacancies: Communications Officer, Finance Officer
Our client is a Financial Sector Development Organization that promotes financial inclusion in Nigeria. The Organization was established in 2007, with a vision to be the leader in facilitating the emergence of an all-inclusive and growth-promoting financial system.
As part of efforts to expand its operations, the Organization has identified a need to recruit suitably qualified and competent candidates to fill the following positions, which will be based in Lagos:
Position: Communications Officer (ES027)
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will provide assistance in developing the Organization’s PR strategy, to increase brand awareness. Specifically, the candidate will:
- Liaise with the appointed PR agency to ensure the successful implementation of the Organization’s branding and communications strategy.
- Creatively design and disseminate research and other information on the Organization’s activities to key stakeholders in the financial sector.
- Manage the Organization’s events. Plan, design, implement and follow-up on PR and communications campaigns for the Organization’s events.
- Develop and maintain the Organization’s database of industry contacts, associations and partners.
- Regularly update the Organization’s website.
- Act as the Organization’s internal editor and quality controller, reviewing lay-out and proof-reading all reports, publications and documents.
- Provide support to colleagues on all PR related activities.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
- A good first degree in English, Finance, Journalism, Social Sciences or any related discipline from a reputable institution.
- A master’s degree and/or relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in communication and information management, journalism/publishing, and marketing/PP. Prior experience in the financial sector will be an advantage.
- Mastery of the English language.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Good knowledge of media tools and basic research concepts.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
Position: Finance Officer (ES028)
Reporting to the Finance Manager successful candidate will assist the Finance Manager in the management of the Organization’s financial and accounting function. Specifically, the candidate will:
- Allocate the budget codes for all payments and ensure that they are accurately reflected in the finance and accounting system.
- Prepare journal vouchers for all payments for sign off by the Finance Manager.
- Check all payment vouchers and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure that all payments are accurately captured in the finance and accounting system.
- Prepare cash advance vouchers for business trips for staff,
- Assist senior management in the retirement of their expenses,
- Maintain the petty cash and reconcile as required.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
- A good first degree in Accounting or any related discipline from a reputable institution.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills,
- Proficient in the use of Tally 9.
- Proven experience in journal entries, account reconciliations, budgeting, analysis of financial data, general ledger maintenance, preparing accounts payable and receivable reports.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
