Vacancies: Tugboat Masters, Chief Officers
We are One of the Indigenous Shipping Companies in the country. Due to expansion of our fleet we require the services of competent professionals to fill the following shipping positions:
Position: Tugboat Masters
Responsibilities
- To take command of tugboats and the full operational activities including towing, pushing and salvaging vessels in distress,
- To be responsible for safeguarding the ship, life of the crew, and cargo entrusted to your care. To implement the Company’s safety and environmental protection policy and to motivate officers and crew onboard towards its
- Observance.
- To promote sale navigation,
- To ensure compliance of the vessel with National laws,
- International Conventions and the requirement of visiting port and countries.
Requirements
- The Tugboat Master must have valid Ship Masters License (COC and STCW1995) and a proven track records of not less than five years’ working experience on tugboat operations as well as sound managerial skills and ability,
Position: Chief Officers;
Responsibilities
- To work in conjunction with other onboard personnel towards achieving the Company’s stated principles and objectives.
- To implement the company’s SMS procedures within the Deck Department.
- To familiarize and train new onboard personnel in the use of lifesaving and fire-fighting appliances
- To ensure good condition of all safety and anti-pollution equipment.
- To ensure the conformance of all safety, hygiene and environmental protection rules and practices by all on board, keeping the medicine chest and providing First Aid
- To keep bridge watch at sea and arranging for general duty crew watches.
- To assist the Master whenever the need arises
Requirements:
- Shall have valid Chief Mate Certificate of Competency and STCW 95 and a proven track record of not less than 5 experience years working experience on tugboats operations as well sound leadership/organizing skill.
