Vacancies: Industry Sector Specialists, Fixed Income/Capital Markets Specialist
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is Nigeria’s foremost financial system regulatory institution, with statutory responsibility for the overall control and administration of the monetary and financial sector policies of the Federal Government of Nigeria. One of the strategic objectives of the CBN, headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria, is to promote a sound financial system in Nigeria.
The Financial System Stability Directorate is seeking appropriately qualified Nigerians to join its team of professionals in the following roles:
Position: Industry Sector Specialists (Agriculture, Oil and Gas, Telecommunication/Transport and Aviation)
Responsibilities
- The ideal candidates will ensure informed regulatory direction and guidance to improve access to bank credit and quality of lending, financial services products and services to industry/sector; establish strategies for improving access to banking services across the industry/sector including financial inclusion of small scale operators; evaluate/ monitor risk concentration to industry/sector and exposure to system risk due to industry credit to large borrowers; participate in banking community knowledge sharing on financial services requirements and strategies for industry/sector and liaise with the banking community and industry groups to promote development of banking products, services and offerings for the industry/sector.
Qualification and Experience
- The candidates will have knowledge of industry/sector cash value chain, industry/sector trends and performance factors, Industry/sector network/relationships and deep knowledge of risk analysis.
At the minimum:
- First degree/ HND in Agricultural Science or a related degree (social sciences, risk management)
- A postgraduate degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in specialized finance. At least 3 years must have been spent in a management position for senior management role.
- Possession of the following certifications is an added advantage: Development Finance Certified Professional(DCFP); Certified Financial Planner (CFP); Certified in Corporate Finance (CCF)
Position: Fixed Income/Capital Markets Specialist
Responsibilities
- The candidate will articulate regulatory guidance and directives on Fixed Income/Capital Markets operations; support banking community development, introduction and/or improvement of fixed income and capital market products-determine, assess and classify product specific risks and considerations of fixed income and capital market exposure types; evaluate/ monitor risk concentration by product and to industry/sector and implications for system risk to the banking community; liaise with the banking community to determine and establish risk mitigation structures to address risk of loss from fixed income and capital market products and provide regulatory guidelines and advisory on fixed income and capital market products.
Qualification and Experience
- The candidate will have deep knowledge of the Fixed Income/Capital Markets; credit processes and policies and risk analysis.
At the minimum:
- First degree/ HND in Banking and Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting or a related discipline
- A postgraduate degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in specialized finance. At least 3 years must have been spent in a management position for senior management role.
- Membership of the following professional bodies is an added advantage: Institute of Finance & Control in Nigerian (IFCNNIG)
- Possession of the following certifications is an added advantage: Development Finance Certified Professional (DCFP); Certified Financial Planner (CFP); Certified in Corporate Finance (CCF)
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) holders and individuals who have already attained CFA Levels I & II are eligible to apply for applicable opportunities (The CBN will support successful candidates through re-imbursement of examination fees after completion of CFA Level III).
