Vacancies: Water Resources /Hydrology Specialist, Climate Change Specialist
The NEWMAP Project is essentially a sustainable land improvement and conservation operation and would target land resources: soils, vegetation, water, biodiversity and livelihood in initial seven (7) participating states in the rainforest agro-ecological Zone of Nigeria. NEWMAP Nigeria therefore, announces the following special services vacancies at the Federal Project Monitoring Unit (FPMU).
Position: Water Resources /Hydrology Specialist (WRS)
Requirement
Professional Degree in Engineering, or a degree in physical and Mathematical sciences or in appropriate professional field, e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Architecture, Computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or Geology,
Position: Climate Change Specialist (CCS)
Requirement
- A first degree in the Sciences or Environmental Management/Natural Resources Management, a Master’s degree will be an added advantage,
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience on like World Bank, ADB projects and able to lead others to solve complex problems using technical knowledge and skills relating to clean energy, climate change adaptation and mitigation projects (e.g., developing COM projects), and adaptation measures and,
- Post qualification spanning over 20 years
Special Information
NEWMAP FPMU requires a team from a mix of MDA secondments and the open market, depending on candidates meting up with the requisite criteria. Therefore, applications from Officers currently in service as Federal government employees from relevant line Ministries are highly encouraged. But it should be noted that such an applicant, if successful, must be ready to come on board on secondment. It should also be noted that the project will only remunerate such applicants on allowances and not salaries.
