The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Abuja Delegation is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy below.

 

Position: Supply Chain Assistant

 

Minimum required knowledge/experience:

  • Applicants should have a University degree in Logistic or Administration
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a similar field
  • Capacity to carry out complex activities
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and sense of initiative
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Other languages an asset
  • Excellent computer skills (Word and Excel), including ICRC standard computer systems
  • Capacity to deal with people, to lead and to develop contact
  • Capacity to integrate the ICRC logistic procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of ICRC rules and purchasing procedures especially financial limits and Code of Conduct
  • Strong sense of responsibility and adaptability
  • Flexibility, availability to work over time when needed
  • Willingness to learn

 

 

Function description:

  • Responsible for the overseeing of the entire procurement process, including clients services, purchasing, transportation and warehousing functions, to ensure smooth functioning of the supply chain process.
  • Is the focal point for the clients regarding all matters related to daily running of Field Supply System (FSS)
  • Validates RO, identifies supply source and overlooks supplier’s selection process
  • Ensures that RO are processed and dispatched to the relevant departments in the best possible period of time
  • Is the focal point for all field orders to LOG PURCH for the SCA at HQ
  • Investigates monitors and makes recommendations for delayed supply chain processes
  • Provide logistical input and technical advise for the allocation process
  • Monitors and follows up on claims and claims procedures
  • Ensures that highest ethical standards are applied at all times
  • Monitors the updating and closing of RO & PO files to full ICRC audit standards, including archiving
  • Maintains and updates RO Data Base (FSS)
  • Assist Head of Logistics as required
