 Our client, a leading conglomerate with Head Office in Lagos and branches across Nigeria, urgently needs highly skilled  and result oriented personnel for immediate employment.

 

Position:     Livestock Insurance Underwriter

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years post qualification experience, preferably in Insurance or Livestock risk Management.

 

Qualification:

  • Veterinary Medicine or equivalent.

 

Job Location:

Nigeria, but may involve extensive travels within and outside the country.

 

Overall Objectives:

To lead in the production and business development of livestock underwriting whilst also ensuring quality service delivery to attract, retain and service clients, brokers and agents for the livestock business lines.

 

Job Description

  • Taking care of underwriting & risk management/claims producer relationship and management.
  • Primary point of contact for livestock business between the company and the farmers.
  • Monitoring of production, renewal, retention, risk management and other qualitative activities.
  • Visitation to brokers, agents and other producers nationwide
  • Monitoring of general development of livestock insurance.
  • Provision of formal and informal training to staff as may be required from time to time.
  • Periodic clinical inspections of insured livestock
  • Ensuring due vetting process of all livestock prior to provision of cover.

 

Desired

  • Be a doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
  • Certification in insurance is an added advantage
  • Effective in problem solving/decision making
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

 

 

Position:     Agronomist                  

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 Years post qualification experience, preferably in Insurance or agricultural risk Management.

 

Qualification:

  • Candidates must possess B.Sc (Hons) or equivalent and knowledge in insurance related courses.

 

Job Location:

Nigeria, but may involve extensive travels within and outside the country.

To co-lead in the production and business development of crops and plants underwriting whilst also ensuring quality service delivery to attract, retain and service clients, brokers and agents for the livestock business lines.

 

 

Job Description:

  • Taking care of underwriting & risk management/claims
  • Primary point of contact for crops and plants insurance business between the company and the farmers.
  • Visitation to brokers, agents and other producers nationwide.
  • Monitoring of general development of crops and plants insurance.
  • Provision of formal and informal training to staff and extension workers as may be required from time to time.
  • Periodic inspections of insured plantation farms
  • Ensuring due vetting process of all crop farms prior to provision of cover.

 

Skills and Specifications

  • The candidate needs to know the scientific methods related to the work.
  • He or she should have the ability to read, write and understand work related documents
  • He or she should have sharp reasoning and logical skills.
  • The candidate should have the ability to identify the pros and cons of available solutions.
  • He or she will have to do the work of management therefore, should be able to effectively manage deadlines.
  • He or she should have good verbal and written communication skills .
  • The candidate should be a good listener and interpreter.
  • He or she needs to have good mathematical and numeric skills.

 

Desired

  • Be an Agricultural Risk Manager or equivalent
  • Certification in insurance is an added advantage
  • Effective in problem solving/decision making
