As usual, TTC Mobile is playing its obligatory role of providing individuals with requisite technical skills to support this, and similar telecom projects. First 100 applications will enjoy 50% Training subsidy from the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON); they will pay only half the regular training fee.
Position: BTS Swap Installation and Commissioning Engineer
At the end of training, you will be able to:
- Perform Commissioning, debugging and troubleshooting of GSM and UMTS BTS
- Swap existing Telecom Equipment and materials such as BTS cabinet, Duplexer, Rectifier TMA, RET, ATS, Navigation light, Security Light, and RF Feeders and Jumpers from old to new ones
- Install new equipment according to specified, quality standard.
- Perform active equipment cut-over during low traffic hours in the night
- Gain knowledge of IP, CDMA and SDH, PDH, Fiber Transport Technologies
- Demonstrate Technical and management skills
- Multi-task and work in a high pressure environment
- Familiarize with different manufacturers BTS and Microwave Products
Note: Full training lasts 5 months for new-comers into telecom, but only 4 weeks for persons already knowledgeable in telecom:
Transmission Shifting
- Shifting of MW PDH Radios modems from Indoor shelter to Outdoor shelter
- Connecting MW PDH Radios as were in Indoor Shelter (Cross-Patching)
- Connecting IF cables b/w MW Dishes and Modems (SRALXD)
- Loop-Testing to check Transmission media and PCMB
- Patching 2 E1s b/w Flexi BTS and MW radios (1 for 900,1 for 1800 band)
BTS Installation
- Outdoor shelter Temp resistant up to 50 degree C (approx)
- Connecting ERGA Duplexer for GSM and ERDA Duplexer for DCS
- Connecting ESEA for extended TRXs) (ESMA/ ESEA are its processors)
- Connecting power cables to Duplexers, TRXs and ESMA
- Performing VSWR testing of Feeder cables to check faults
- Connecting Feeder to BTS via jumpers to adjust cables length
- Alarm Patching
- Powering Up
BTS Commissioning
- Connecting to BTS to laptop
- Configuring TRXs and Sectors via BTS user interface
- Configuring Abis Plan via same user interface
- Cross-Connections b/w BTS and MW PDH
- Cross-Connections changing from BSC to BSC
- Loop-testing to check Transmission media and new ET
