Vacancies: Institute Librarian, Principal Lecturer/ Director Academic Planning

 

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancies in the Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology, Kazaure.

 

Position: Institute Librarian

 

Qualifications:

• Master of Library Science degree with at least 15 years cognate experience
• Also, a candidate must be computer literate/ICT compliant
• In addition to the above requirements the candidate should have:

1. Registration with a relevant recognized Professional Body
2. Ability to offer Academic/Administrative leadership
3. Evidence of distinction in the particular field of specialization and ability to take on added responsibility.
4. Ability to initiate/continue and supervise approved research/project/exhibitions etc.
5. Relevant publications in journals and textbooks equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer as follows:

a)    At   least   twelve   (12)   papers   presented   at   National/International   Conferences   or Seminars.

b)    Either of:

1.    At least 10 papers accepted for publication in reputable Journals of which seven (7) must have been published or

2.    At   least   nine   (9)   meaningful   chapters   contributed   in   at   least three   (3)   distinct standard text books, or

3.    At least two (2) standard textbooks in relevant field.

c)    Evidence of community service.

 

 

Position:  Principal Lecturer/ Director Academic Planning

 

Qualifications:

 

• A Doctorate Degree in the field of ICT from a recognized Institution, with at least 9 years of teaching experience and applied research in an Institution of higher learning.
• A Master’s Degree or equivalent Post-Graduate qualification from a recognized Institution of higher learning, with at least 12 years of teaching experience and applied research.
• Also, candidate must have registration with relevant professional body.

 

In addition to the above requirements the candidate should have the following:

1. Either of:

i.        At least 6 papers published in reputable Journals, or

ii.       At least 5 meaningful chapters contributed in standard text book(s) or

iii.      One standard textbook.

 

2. At least 8 Conference/Seminar papers presented at national or international conference.

 

3. Evidence of ability to provide academic and administrative leadership and community service.

 

4. Ability to initiate/continue and supervise approved research, project(s), exhibition/production etc

 

5. Evidence of registration with a relevant recognized Professional Body.
