Vacancies: Media Manager, Output Manager (Security and Governance)
The Nigeria Stability and Reconciliation Programme (NSRP) is supported by DFID/UKAID and is managed by a consortium made up of British Council International Alert and Social Development Direct. The programme seeks to deliver interventions to reduce the impacts of violent conflict and promote reconciliation processes. The focus will be on the national level and in eight focal states.
NSRP is looking for committed and experienced individuals to join the-senior technical team of this innovative and exciting programme. Experience of working on programmes in conflict-affected environments, either in Nigeria or other countries, is imperative for all posts. All post holders will be based in Abuja but will make frequent visits to NSRP’s regional offices in Maiduguri, Kano, Jos and Port Harcourt and to all the focal states.

Position: Media Manager
- The Media Manager is responsible for providing strategic and technical management to deliver the programme’s media activities S/he will develop and provide technical leadership to ensure the implementation, monitoring and reporting of all media component activity at federal, state and local level.
Qualifications:
- Essential qualifications include a Masters Degree qualification in Mass Communication, Public Relations or other relevant social sciences and/or at least 5 years experience in broadcast or the print media. An in-depth understanding of conflict dynamics in Nigeria and demonstrable understanding of conflict sensitive reporting is required. Excellent contacts within the Nigerian media and the government authorities are also required for this post.

Position: Output Manager (Security and Governance)
- The Output Manager will lead the design and delivery of programmes to foster better coordination, higher levels of inclusion, and greater accountability among individuals and institutions involved in conflict management. S/he will develop and manage relationships and partnerships with a wide range of individuals and institutions concerned with security, mediation, dialogue and reconciliation. Working with the Technical Advisers, the Output Manager will contribute to the overall development of ‘best practice’ in the design and delivery of multi-faceted conflict prevention programmes.
Qualifications:
- Candidates applying for this position must have a Masters qualification in Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology or a related social science discipline, with at least 5 years experience of providing technical leadership in implementing projects and designing strategies around security and governance. In depth understanding of conflict and peace building issues in Nigeria, familiarity with rights, inclusion, gender equality and human security frameworks is critical. Excellent strategic, analytical and problem-solving abilities as well as the ability to manage partnerships are-also required for this post.
