Vacancies: Laboratory Officer, Mobilization Officer, Clinical Assistant
The Population Council is an international, non-profit, non-governmental institution that seeks that seeks to improve the well-being and reproductive health of current and future generations around the world and help achieve a humane, equitable and sustainable balance between people and resources. The Council’s major program areas are HIV&AIDS, reproductive health and poverty, gender, and youth. The Council conducts biomedical, social science and public health research and helps build research capacities in developing countries. The Population Council works in collaboration with a broad range of Nigerian institutions. Due to expansion of its activities, the Council is seeking qualified individuals to fill the following positions;
Position: Laboratory Officer – Kaduna & Lagos
The successful candidate will operate and maintain a standard medical laboratory at a newly established community-based outpatient clinic for men and sexual partners who engage in high behaviors that predispose them to increased risks of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s of Medical Laboratory Science degree
- Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in public or private hospital; or clinic.
- Licensed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the state and country
- Strong analytical communication skills, ability to write clearly and under time pressure.
Position: Mobilization Officer – Kaduna & Lagos
- The successful candidate will provide assistance in the implementation and the day to day running of a community based clinics target at most-at-risk population. S/he will provide technical support to the project partners in mobilizing members of the community to access HIV prevention services.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in one of the Social Sciences or allied disciplines
- Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience in the NGO sector.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, Word , and PowerPoint
- Ability and willingness to travel within the state and country
- High degree of independence, creativity and commitment
- Communication skill and ability to write clearly and succinctly under time pressure
Position: Clinical Assistant – Kaduna & Lagos
The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support in a newly established community-based clinic in an effective and efficient manner that the clinic operations are maintained to high standards. This position will also provide administrative support to the Medical Officer
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial studies, Administration or closely related field
- At least 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in administration and NGO experience desirable.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Excel, (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Excellent Communications skill (e.g. Interpersonal, writing.)
- Organized and results-orientated.
