Mercy Corps is an international NGO that is seeking to fill vacant positions, contingent upon funding and registration. Successful candidates will meet qualification requirements. Excellent written and spoken English is required for all positions, including local languages where specified.

 

Position: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Advisor – ENGINE

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or relevant field, with a strong foundation in research methods, statistics, measurement, and evaluation. Minimum 3-5 years of M&E work experience in international development required.
  • Excellent computer skills, including experience with: Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Epi-lnfo, Epi-Data, SPSS, Access, and SQL.
  • Demonstrated understanding of intermediate and advanced statistics and the ability to summarize, generalize, and make predictions from large data sets. Familiarity and experience large-scale secondary education or school to work and especially targeting marginalized girls or young women programs preferred. Experience working in the Middle Belt and Northern States of Nigeria. Hausa language skills preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

  • The MEL Advisor will coordinate closely with the Program Manager and the Country Representative to plan and implement activities that ensure adherence to Mercy Corps’ and DFID standards, including the use of standardized indicators and documentation methodologies. Throughout the life of the program, s/he will be the senior leader responsible for a) cross-cutting programmatic information management within the framework of the program; b) monitoring and evaluation; c) ensuring that information is shared and used for continuous improvement of on-going programs, and d) is incorporated into reports.

Position: Project Coordinator – CONCUR

 

Qualifications:

  • Direct experience implementing peace-building, economic development, and/or natural resource management projects in Northern Nigeria.
  • University degree in Conflict Mitigation, Social Sciences, International Relations or other relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant professional experience with Conflict Management, Economic development and/or natural resource development programs. Knowledge of principles of market-led development

 

Responsibilities:

  • The Project Coordinator will be responsible for day-to-day project implementation of the peace-building program in the areas of implementation. This includes strengthening the capacity of local partners in program focus, facilitating clear communication between diverse groups and ensuring rigorous measurement of program impact and timely reporting. The Project Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that the project is implemented in an effective and efficient manner.

 

 

Based in Kaduna with regular and on-going travel to project areas.
