Vacancies: Legal Adviser, Manager (Operations)
We are one of Nigeria’s Leading Companies in the Oil & Gas Service Sector. We are looking to hire top professionals in our Oil and Gas/ Marine Division.
Position: Legal Adviser
- The ideal candidate must have at least 1 0 years proven experience in Law.
- He /she must have experience in commercial contract, litigations, and dispute resolutions and must have spent the last three years in the employment of a marine company.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Co-ordinate the legal dimension and activities of the Company
- Acts as Commercial Manager by being involved in negotiations and actions pre-project takeoff
- Provide legal advice concerning all activities of the Company, in particular:
- Provide legal advice on staff, financial and contractual and institutional matters.
- Revise public procurement notices and contracts to be signed by the Company
- Provide legal advice on the legal, validity and liability related to acts and decisions prepared by the Company
- Examine publications, advertisements and other such materials/documents etc., for legal implications
- Organize, prepare agendas for, and take minutes of management meetings.
- Advise the organization of the legal and governance, implications and proposed policies
- Implement the legal processes required to affect the privileges, obligations, and rights of the organization
- Examine legal information to find out the advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuit
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and taking appropriate action
Develop and oversee the systems that ensure the company complies with all applicable codes, as well as its legal and statutory requirements.
Qualification:
The company requires for position 3 that the candidates should:
- Have an LL.B. B. L.
- A Master’s Degree or professional certification will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience with the last 5 years experience in a marine company spent at a member of management
Position: Manager (Operations)
The purpose of this role is to oversee the planning, directing, or coordinating of specific projects and on-shore and off-shore services of the organization to ensure effective management day to day running of company’s vessel, well and engineering projects to ensure that project scopes are completed on schedule, within budget and according to the quality standards required by the company.
- The ideal candidate must have proven and extensive years of experience in marine and offshore supply vessel market
- He/She must possess all the necessary skills to handle all aspects of the operation of a shipping company,
- The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of a shipping company and be an effective team player.
The responsibilities will include as follows:
- Create and execute project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Identify resource needs and assign individual responsibilities.
- Maintain vessels Class, flag and statutory certification, monitoring the survey schedules, planning surveys and ensuring vessel compliance with all regulations
- Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope.
- Review deliverable prepared by the Operations team before passing for execution.
- Effectively apply professional experience and the company’s methodology to enforce standards.
- Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.
- Minimize the company’s exposure and risk on project.
- Ensures project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.
- Track and report team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
Qualifications:
The company requires that the candidates should possess:
- A first degree in Engineering or Marine equivalent
- Have 10 years experience in the marine/shipping sector with the last five years spent at a management level in their last place of employment perforating similar functions.
