Vacancies: Port Engineer, Chief Engineer, 2nd Engineer
An expanding Marine Company with offices located in Port Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja hereby invites qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions in the company:
Position: Port Engineer
Requirement:
- Candidates with Valid Certificate of Competency (COC). Valid STCW certification, Valid Seamans Book with evidence of minimum of ten (10) years experience as Chief Engineer on class vessels, Valid Passport and Medical certificate.
Job Description:
- Design, develop, and take responsibility for the installation of ship machinery and related equipment including propulsion machines and power supply systems.
- Perform monitoring activities in order to ensure that ships conform to international regulations and standards for life saving equipments and pollution preventatives.
- Investigates machinery casualties to determine cause, and advises ship’s officers in methods of operation to prevent recurrence of casualty or Mal-operation.
- Inspects machinery, equipment, or spaces outlined in work request, draws up job specifications, and obtains bids from contractors or shipyards to perform repairs.
- Coordinates repair and maintenance functions
- Cooperates with regulatory bodies to ensure that requirements for alterations, repair, or modifications are kept at minimum cost consistent with safety.
Position: Chief Engineer
Requirement:
- Valid Certificate of Competency (COC), Valid STCW certification, Valid Seamans Book with evidence of minimum three (3) years experience as Chief Engineer, Valid Passport and Medical certificate.
Position: 2nd Engineer
Requirement:
- Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) , Valid STCW certification, Valid Seamans Book with evidence of minimum three (3) years experience as a 2nd Engineer, Valid Passport and Medical certificate.
