Vacancies: Senior Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Accountant
We have been retained by our Client, a medium-sized and fast expanding construction company based in Ikeja, Lagos, to recruit suitably qualified individuals for immediate employment within the following positions:
Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Female):
Will be responsible for:
- Establishing and operating cost and financial control systems to ensure budgets are maintained.
- Procurement of materials and tracking and co-ordination of deliveries
- Creating and/ or maintaining a log of variations on an ongoing basis with detailed back up to be discussed at weekly meetings
- Daily / weekly measures on site to cross check with the quantities in the “Bill Of Quantities” and or items not measured in the “Bill of Quantities” and to ensure contractors are achieving their labour constants/ outputs
- Preparation of interim valuations as required including up to date variations etc
- The preparation and valuation of progress and final payments in connection with sub-contractors
- Attending site meetings to report on weekly progress on site with respect to budget and QS issues.
Required Qualifications and Specifications:
- Minimum of HND (Upper Credit) or Bachelors degree(2.2) in Quantity Surveying
- 38-48 years age bracket
- Must have between 15-20years of experience as a Quantity
- Surveyor and must have worked in a Construction company
- Possession of a Masters Degree in Quantity Surveying and
- Membership of NIQS are significant advantages
- Excellent pre and post contract experience in working on claims, field work, preparation and review of estimates, cost plans, bills of quantities, tender reporting, valuations, procurement, change management and final accounts
- Demonstrable record of taking projects from inception through to final delivery and ability to work within project time constraints
- Experience and abilities in working effectively within and managing complex teams on challenging projects
- Excellent communication skills to be able to deal effectively with contractors, site staff, third party suppliers and client team;
- High level of integrity and proven ability to maintain confidentiality, impartiality and discretion
- Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and MS suites i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of relevant QS softwares
- Good Organisational and People Management skills.
Position: Quantity Surveyor (Male):
Will be responsible for:
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client
- Undertaking feasibility studies and performing risk management, value management and cost control/analysis for tenders
- Assisting in establishing a client’s requirements
- Valuing completed work and liaising with the Finance to arrange payments
- Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
- Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
- Generating data for pricing of work and materials
- Maintaining awareness of the different building contracts in current use
- Carrying out frequent studies and reference on other project cases to solve any problems that occur in the field.
Required Qualifications and Specifications:
- Minimum of HND (Upper Credit) or Bachelors degree(2.2) in Quantity Surveying or related field
- 30-35 years age bracket
- Must have between 5-10years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor
- Must have worked in a Construction company
- Cost accounting skills is essential
- High Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD and MS suites i.e. Word, Excel. PowerPoint and use of relevant QS softwares
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as being a team player
- Good knowledge of Building and Civil Engineering laws and regulations, as well as Health and Safety matters, Tax, Insurance and Contract Laws.
Position: Accountant
Required Qualifications and Specifications:
- Minimum of B.Sc./HND Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years cognate experience post NYSC in relevant field.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Ability to prepare vital account reports (e.g. management account, bank reconciliation, Job profitability report etc)
- Strong stewardship over cash management, cost and credit control
- Ability to relate with all stakeholders externally and internally
- Proficiency in use of PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word and
- Peachtree Accounting Software
- Professional qualification will be an advantage.
