Chief Accountant at USAID

Background:

USAID’s Monitoring and Evaluation Management Services II project is a five-year USAID activity supporting performance management and capacity building for USAID Nigeria and its implementing partners. It is currently seeking qualified candidate for the position of a Chief Accountant.

 

Position: Chief Accountant

 

Job Summary:

The Chief Account discharges his/her assignments under the guidance of the Chief of Party and Financial and Operations Manager. She/he is responsible for preparing financial reports, tracking payments, supervising petty cash disbursements, analyzing expenditure and income, allocating account codes and postings into the QuickBooks.

 

Qualifications/Experience: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

  • Must have a BSC or HND in Accounting. MBA or membership of ACA or CPA is an added advantage.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working in accounting/financial management for USAID or other international donor funded-projects.
  • Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills in English
  • Excellent Finance, Accounting and Management analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Accounting Software, Microsoft Excel, word processing and database applications highly required.
  • Ability to work as an integral part of a professional team, set priorities and handle a high volume of activities
  • Excellent professional references (minimum of 3)
