The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is Nigeria’s foremost financial system regulatory institution, with statutory responsibility for the overall control and administration of the monetary and financial sector policies of the Federal Government of Nigeria. The Financial System Stability Directorate is seeking appropriately qualified Nigerians to join its team of professionals in the following roles:
Position: Accounting/IFRS/Basel II/III Specialist
Responsibilities
- The specialist will be responsible for guiding the regulatory interpretation and response of the Central Bank of Nigeria to global financial industry decisions and regulation on accounting, risk management and financial reporting by financial institutions; review regulatory guidance (IFRS, Base II/III) and ensure that industry risk frameworks comply with benchmark regulations for various fixed income assets used in investment and monetary policy operations of banks, with a particular emphasis on structured credit products and covered bonds. The specialist will also provide advice on interpretation and the implementation of applicable accounting, standards and global financial industry regulations and standards.
Qualification and Experience
- Candidates are expected to have a deep knowledge of IFRS and Basel II/III accounting legislation and audit practice.
At the Minimum
- First degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related discipline
- A post graduate degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in an accounting role in a large institution. At least 3 years must have been spent in a management role
- membership of the following professional bodies is an added advantage: Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigerian (CITN), Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN)
- Possession of the following certifications is an added advantage: Certifies Chartered Accountant (CCA), Certified Public Account (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
Position: IT Team (Bank Examiner) Technology
Responsibilities
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, assessing and evaluating the security architecture of the industry information Technology environment and ensure compliance to regulatory requirements. The candidate will also define regulatory guidelines for IT systems and environments includmg contingency planning for IT operations of financial institutions and define methodology for information technology examination of financial institutions including routine and complex assessments bank information technology systems and environments.
Qualification and Experience
- Candidates will have a good knowledge and familiarity with leading practices in security standards/frameworks; deep knowledge of different laws and regulation, financial accounts/reports and bank’s audit functions.
At the minimum:
- First degree / HND in Computer Science, Information Technology and related disciplines (Computer Engineering, Computer with Economics/ Mathematics, Management Information Systems and Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
- A post graduate degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in information technology. At least 3 years must have been spent in a management position for senior management role.
- Membership of the following professional bodies is an added advantage: Computer Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), Nigerian Computer Society (NCS)
- Possession of the following certification is an added advantage: ITIL Manager; CITP- Certified Information Technology Professional (AICPA); Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (CoBIT; Sun Certified Enterprise Architect (SCEA); Federated Enterprise Architect Certification (FEAC); Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA); Enterprise Architect Certification (EAC); The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF); Certified Architect.
Age: Age limit for all positions is 50 years.
