Vacancies: Administrative Officer, Procurement/Contract Specialist, Accountant
The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria has a 5-year Cooperative Agreement with the United States Government Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) for the purpose of mentoring all tiers of Nigeria’s Public Laboratory System to advance them towards National Accreditation under PEPFAR by Council
MLSCN is therefore recruiting senior-level managers and technical experts to provide services towards driving continuing quality improvement of public health laboratories for national accreditation.
Position: Administrative Officer
The Administrative Officer is to coordinate activities in the administrative department of the project He/She will receive mails and general correspondence on behalf of the Project. Keep adequate staff records and staff movements, schedule and make all arrangements for meetings including venues and handle other general administrative functions,
Minimum Requirement:
- Candidates should have B.Sc/B.A in Economics, Business Administration, Humanities or in any other Social Sciences.
- Minimum of three years post NYSC experience in related department
Position: Procurement/Contract Specialist
S/he will develop policies and strategies related to procuring supplies and services in accordance with ICDC budget guidelines and other procurement policy of Government of Nigeria. Develop contracting arrangements with selected vendors which meet the CDC project criteria and standards. Collate specifications required for various supplies and make them available to suppliers. Ensure that all procurement in the project is carried out in a timely and efficient manner and in compliance with CDC guidelines.
Minimum Requirement:
- University Degree or HND in Business Administration, Accountancy, Social Sciences or related fields with five years cognate experience in similar positions.
Position: Accountant
General accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledgers, account and bank reconciliations, Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the senior accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. Prepare journal entries, general ledger operations, monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements, reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts, draw up monthly financial reports, administer accounts receivable and account payable, prepare staff tax computations and returns, assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, assist with payroll administration, account/bank reconciliations, assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process, assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
Minimum Requirement:
- Candidates should have B.Sc. In Accountancy and registration with ICAN or ANAN are required with minimum of three years cognate experience. In addition candidate is expected to have a good knowledge of accounting principles and practices, finance principles, knowledge of financial reporting and technical accounting skills.
- Previous experience of general accounting and proficiency in relevant accounting software will be an advantage.
