The Technical Unit on Governance and Anti-Corruption Reforms-TUGAR is a Government research, monitoring and evaluation unit set up to respond to the critical need for a rigorous approach to policy-making grounded on empirical, data collection and analysts, and in-depth country specific diagnostics on corruption and related governance issues The key mandates of TUGAR are as follows:
- Monitor and evaluate the governance and anti-corruption initiatives at all levels of governance in the country and provide data-based coordination,
- Facilitate the building of synergy among the diverse anti-corruption initiatives and provide a coordinating platform as the Secretariat of the Inter-Agency Task Team Against Corruption (IATT)
Towards strengthening the coordination role of TUGAR in coordinating anti-corruption initiatives across the country, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is supporting TUGAR to engage a Data Analyst for the unit.
Position: Data Analyst
The duties of the Data Analyst will include but will not be limited to
- Developing survey and measurement tools.
- Coordinate the construction of governance indicators.
- Analyze and interpret data generated from field work.
- Any other relevant duty that may be assigned by the Head of Unit
Educational Qualification:
- Degree in Statistics or any other relevant field.
- Masters Degree holders will have added advantage
Experience;
- The Candidate must have at least 12 years of relevant experience 3 of which should be in a similar role.
Skills Required
- Excellent drafting and editing skills
- Excellent organizational planning and logistical skills with a proactive attitude and attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of diverse professional backgrounds and a service orientated mind-set
- Excellent research skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects and to tight deadlines
- Strong presentation and writing skills would be desirable.
