Position: Finance Manager

Specific Job/Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be a key staff in the project and will manage the project accounts, provide finance schedules to Auditors, produce monthly and other periodic financial and management accounts, as well as donor budget monitoring reports.
  • S/He will take lead on financial planning and budgeting, and provides guidance to program team on same.
  • S/He will also supervise the administration system, i.e. legal matters, property leases, communication systems and procurement.
  • In addition, the post holder will supervise the finance staff in maintenance of property accounting records; processing of financial transactions; administration of staff salaries; asset management and preparation of monthly and end of the year financial statements.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Applicants must be a chartered accountant with a degree in finance manager with a reputable NGO or donor agency, Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are required.
  • S/he must have thorough knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles, theories, practices, and terminology.
  • She/he must be computer literate (MS word, Excel and QuickBooks) and have the ability to use various commercially available accounting software programs.
  • Familiarity with NGO/USAID financial procedures is a must, while relevant higher degree will enhance applicant’s chances. Previous experience supporting family planning and reproductive health projects is preferred.
