RTI International is recruiting for the following job positions for an upcoming early grade reading and education program.
Position: Finance Manager
Responsibilities
Candidates will oversee financial management and reporting functions of program to ensure compliance with donor contract terms. S/he will be responsible for supervising coordinating and training finance and grants management staff across central and state-based offices. S/he will ensure appropriate systems and procedures (payroll, cash management, vendor payments, budgeting and others related to financial management) are in place to properly disburse, account, budget and report project and grants funds in a cost effective and timely manner, and with proper internal controls. Other specific responsibilities will include: preparing and submitting monthly financial statements and other reporting requirements to RTI’s head office within the designated time period; implementing, consolidating and monitoring cost effective and efficient systems and procedures with strong internal controls; coordinating the tracking of finances related to grants and/or scholarships; and preparing other financial and cost accounting reports , operations and analysis as required by management and RTI head Office.
Qualifications
- Candidates must be a Chartered Accountant/Certified Public Accountant and/or MBA required; minimum of 10 years working experience in the accounting/finance field, with experience managing large budgets (at least US$15 Million);
- Should have 5 years managerial experience: and proficiency in MS Excel.
- Knowledge of Quick Books is desirable; knowledge of USAID regulations preferred
Position: Grants Manager
Responsibilities
- Applicant will be responsible for overall leadership and quality assurance of grants awarded in support of an early grade reading program. The Grants Manager will monitor compliance with award-specific requirements and applicable regulations. Working in collaboration with program staff and government partners,
- S/he will be responsible and managing an application process for selecting school and NGO grantees. This will include; designing a grant application process that adheres to donor regulations; providing guidance to grant applicants; drafting terms of reference for grantees; reviewing and negotiating all grant applications; coordinating the execution of award document; conducting compliance reviews of grant implementation; maintaining grantee files; ensuring compliance with award terms and conditions; reviewing and processing grantees invoices; and evaluating the effectiveness of the activities carried out with grants funds.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, finance, Accounting or related field
- At least 5 yeas relevant experience in grants management/administration and international development projects, preferably USAID funded.
- Strong background in management and administration, finance and accounting is highly desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft office package especially Excel. Excellent communication skills and fluency in English required.
