Vacancies: Financial Controller, Financial Accountant

We are currently searching for the following professional:
Position: Financial Controller (REF: FCJ)
Location – Jos, Plateau State
Reporting to the Managing Director
Specific job Roles
- Perform the role of strategic partner to the Managing Director
- Champion the development of company’s strategy, its translation into financial and business plans and projections and performance monitoring and reporting.
- Maintain a standard accounting system to deliver financial performance reports in line with UAC Group and IFRS requirements and meeting set deadlines.
- Articulate, develop and oversee strategies to ensure that the company’s funding requirements are proactively anticipated and met at a reasonable cost.
- Provide leadership to the company’s finance function personnel.
- Scan the company’s socio-political, economic and financial environment regularly and drive the company’s risk management initiatives
- Oversee the formulation and implementation of strategies to ensure effective management and utilization of the company’s IT infrastructure.
- Manage relationships with external bodies, Tax and regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to ensure a fair and positive outlook for the company.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:
- B.Sc Accounting/HND Accountancy in addition to a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ICMA, ACCA, CPA etc).
- 10 years post qualification working experience in a reputable manufacturing company, 5 of which must be in a Senior Financial Role.
- Must have experience working with: SAGE Line 500 and SAP (ERPS).
The Position – Financial Accountant
Location – Lagos (REF: FAL) , Jos: (REF FAJ)
Reporting to the Finance Director
Specific Job Roles
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual Financial Statements in line with all statutory and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Tax administration covering company income tax, value added tax (VAT), Withholding Tax, Personal Income Tax, rendition of returns to tax offices and liaison with relevant tax offices in resolving issues related to tax computational objections and queries.
- Manage the company’s account payables / receivables
- Management of the Company’s Fixed Assets.
- Ensure that the company’s cash management and banking activities are efficiently carried out.
- Perform monthly review of the general ledger; ensure that key accounts are backed up with relevant schedules.
- Process and business owner/manager of the ERP systems.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:
- B.Sc Accounting/HND Accountancy in addition to a recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ICMA, ACCA, CPA etc).
- 5 years post-qualification experience in the Finance Function of a reputable manufacturing company. Must have experience working with solutions; SAGE Line500and SAP (ERPS).
