The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is Nigeria’s foremost financial system regulatory institution, with statutory responsibility for the overall control and administration of the monetary and financial sector policies of the Federal Government of Nigeria. One of the strategic objectives of the CBN, headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria, is to promote a sound financial system in Nigeria.

 

The Financial System Stability Directorate is seeking appropriately qualified Nigerians to join its team of professionals in the following roles:

 

 

Position: Fraud and Forensic Specialist

Responsibilities

  • The Specialist will be responsible for establishing and maintaining  appropriate structures and process for the identification, prevention and management of financial industry fraud risk.

 

  • The ideal candidate will also be able to develop fraud policy  guidelines for the financial industry; provide expert direction and insights for effective antifraud and financial crime programs and controls and ensure that reports of investigations conducted by banks sent to the CBN are properly documented and reviewed as basis for preventive regulatory guidance and direction.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Candidates are expected to have a deep knowledge of end to end operations of financial institutions, financial crimes modus operandi, analysis and Interpretation of financial reports; and a deep knowledge of risk factors associated with various securities for the purpose of assessing potential for fraudulent activities

 

At the minimum:

  • A First degree/HND in Finance, Accounting, Auditing,  Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Criminology and related disciplines
  • A post graduate degree in a business field & on added advantage
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in financial investigation, Audit, Internal Control, or Risk Management
  • Membership el the following professional bodies is an  added advantage;
  • Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
  • Possession of the following certifications  is an added advantage:  Certified
  • Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSP); Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); Certified Forensic Accountant (Cr.FA); Certified Forensic Financial Analyst (CFFA); Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP); CRISC- Certified in Risk and  Information System Control.

 

 

Position: Corporate Governance Specialist

Responsibilities

  • The specialist will be responsible for establishing and confirming compliance with financial Industry standards for corporate governance compliance. This should reflect best practice and minimise risk of corporate ‘governance abuse and deterioration in performance and safety of financial institutions. The ideal candidate will also develop corporate governance benchmarks relating to licensing and approval processes; review corporate governance compliance of individual institutions against regulatory corporate governance code and determine necessary regulatory action and decisions; and develop policy and procedure recommendations for regulation on Corporate governance code and determine necessary regulatory action and decisions; and develop policy and procedure recommendations for regulation on Corporate Governance improvement in Banks and other financial institutions.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Candidates are expected to have  deep knowledge of global and local corporate governance practice and also deep knowledge of licensing  and approval legislation.

 

At the Minimum:

  • First degree/HND in Law, Accounting, Banking  & Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related  discipline
  • A post graduate  degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience  in corporate governance. At least 3 years must have been spent in a management position for senior management role.
  • Membership of the following professional bodies  is an added advantage: Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb)
  • Possession of the following certification is an added advantage; Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (CSA).

 

Age: Age limit for all positions is 50 years.
