Position: Gas Expert Ref: GE 001

Duties

  • Provide technical support for thorough understanding of the gas sector
  • Advise the CEO and Board of Directors on all aspects of transmission and distribution of natural and liquefied natural gas
  • Primary to help the company build capacity in gas distribution

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • B. Eng or B.Sc degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting or Law
  • Must be a member of COREN
  • M.Sc in Energy Studies(Oil & Gas) preferably
  • Must possess strong management, leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team in multicultural environment and ensure good client communication
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skis, excellent strategic planning, project management and report writing skills Experiences
  • Demonstrate at least 10 years of professional working experience, with at least 5 years in a gas company
  • Experience of developing and analyzing business plans relating to the oil & gas industry with special focus on the gas sector
  • If an expatriate, must have experience of working with various levels of government in transition and developing economies especially in Africa
  • Knowledge and familiarity with local and international policies and directive pertaining to energy would be highly desirable
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of regulatory issues in the area of gas
  • Demonstrate an understanding of accounting and financial systems of the gas sector and show management experience in analyzing gas trends
  • Full knowledge of the Gas Development plan is important
  • Must not more than 35 years

 

 

Position:     Chief Operating Officer/Technical Advisor to Executive Chairman Ref: TA 002

 

Job Overview

The COO shall be responsible for driving the performance of the company’s business as dictated by the overall strategy agreed by the Board of the Company; maintaining an on-going dialogue with the Executive Chairman and non-executive directors. He shall report directly to the Executive Chairman

 

Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Build and lead an effective and cohesive executive management with effective succession planning
  • Evaluate and chair the executive management team
  • Represent the company during meetings with government officials, regulatory authorities, the media shareholders and general public

 

Strategy

  • Manage the creation of an appropriate vision and long term strategy for the company to be agreed by the board
  • Develop and put in place strategic operating plans and budget for each business unit and central functions that reflect the longer term objectives and priorities of the board
  • Communicate and implement the group’s strategy as agreed by the board

 

Operations and Control

  • Establish an appropriate structure for the group and its management
  • Ensure that appropriate and satisfactory systems are in place for monitoring group performance against plans and budgets
  • Put in place effective system of control throughout the group covering financial and non financial controls
  • Ensure the company and its businesses comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirement as well as best practice, Also that appropriate standard of conduct are complied with

Communication and reporting

  • Liaise with and keep Executive Chairman and the Board informed of the operations of the company’s businesses
  • Responsible for all corporate communication and carry out effective programmes on investor relations
  • Ensure that a system is in place for effective communication with executive management team and other employees
  • Provide appropriate and satisfactory system for financial management reporting on monthly basis

 

Qualification & Skills

  • Must be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Vast knowledge in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Bachelor Degree, MBA or Masters in Quantitative areas from top academic institution preferable
  • At least 10 years experience in Oil & Gas industry and not less than 5 years working in similar role
  • Sound written & verbal communication with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must not be more than 40 years old.
