Group Head-Strategic Planning & Business Development (Nigerian/Expatriate) at Leading Edge Consulting

We have been retained by our Client, a leading Group in the Financial Services Sector to identify a highly motivated and seasoned professional to lead its strategic planning, implementation and business development functions.

 

Position: Group Head-Strategic Planning & Business Development (Nigerian/Expatriate)

 

This position reports directly to the Group Managing Director and also has a dotted line reporting relationship with the Board Committee on Strategy in relation to the Group Strategic Plan implementation.

 

Position Summary

This position provides effective support to the GMD on the conceptual issues arising from the Business Strategy of the Group. The incumbent is also required to ensure effective business development (via products, channels and viable business plans) for continued growth and optimal profitability of the Group. In addition, it has the responsibility for the overall direction, co-ordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects while ensuring consistency with the corporate strategy, commitments, goals and timing.

 

 

Person Specifications

This role requires an individual of rare mix of skills and competencies and outstanding record of leadership of successful change initiatives. The incumbent must have the following amongst others:

  • A first degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Insurance and Actuarial Science or any other associated field.
  • A master’s degree in Economics or any other Business related discipline.
  • Associate membership of ICAN, CIIN or other equivalent bodies is advantageous.
  • Minimum often years work experience in corporate planning and strategic development role, four of which must be at the management level
  • High numerical ability, superior analytical and problem solving skills. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate capacity to operate at the strategic-operational level.
  • Extensive and proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, change management are also required.
