LAPO Academy for Microfinance and Enterprise Development (LAMED). It is an enterprise development academy, which provides institutional support services to microfinance institutions – NGOs and Banks.
The academy draws on the experience and expertise of LAPO top management staff and foreign partners from U.SA Asia and other African countries with best practices in microfinance which are skillfully impacted on participants.
Position: Head of Finance/ Accounts

Responsibilities
- Ensuring adequate financial management system is in place and properly operated.
- Ensuring preparation of timely, accurate, and comprehensive periodic financial reports.
- Ensuring that financial records are made available for periodic audit exercises Designs appropriate accounting systems for the Academy.
- Maintains all appropriate books of records and accounts for the Academy.
- Prepares monthly financial statements for the Academy NOT later than 12th of the succeeding month
- Prepares annual financial statements (Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) not later than February of the succeeding months.
- Prepares annual budgets and monthly cash budgets for the Academy
- Relates with the Group Internal Audit Unit as well as External Auditors for the purpose of conduct of audit exercises
- Prepares monthly budget monitoring statements for review by the Governing Council and Management
- Provides necessary professional advice and guidance on financial management
- Carries out other assignments as directed by Director-General
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A minimum of a First degree in a relevant discipline Possession of a masters degree will be an advantage
- A minimum of three years relevant experience in training will be required.
