Head of Finance at a Marketing and Sales Company

Our Client, a Marketing and sales multinational company is requesting application from suitable qualified candidates to fill the post of:

 

Position: Head of Finance

The Goals

Will independently carry out financial task within the Group guidelines to ensure accuracy and accountability of information, will provide technical and managerial support for managers and other subordinates in his team.

The Profile of the candidate:

  • Applicant must possess a minimum of Bachelors degree (a second class upper classification) in finance from a reputable higher institution to be eligible for consideration.
  • A post graduate degree (an MBA) will be an added advantage.
  • Candidate should possess a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience of which 5 years must, have been at managerial level.
  • He/She should be a Chartered Accountant with membership of professional bodies-  ICAN, CIBN
  • He/She will not be more than 45 years of age.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In charge of the Finance Department of the Company
  • Responsible for the financial integrity and management of the business.
  • Oversees and monitors the procedures guaranteeing the quality, fairness and exhaustiveness of the published accounts in compliance with applicable local laws, regulations and consolidation norms as well as in line with Company Group ­referential.
  • Manages relations with external auditors and ensures that the financial commitments made comply with Groups regulations.
  • Handle tax returns and relations with tax authorities and contributes to optimizing net income.

 

Further Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Has a perfect, business-orientated understanding of the economic performance of commercial businesses capable of identifying important trends and opportunities geared towards maximum business earnings.
  • Is responsible for the production and submission of reports while guaranteeing the supplied data.
  • Ensure that the Company has the necessary financial resources to operate and grow and that its cash flow is efficiently managed.
  • Guarantees that market financial risk are managed and hedged (foreign exchange rate)
  • Guarantee the management of customer risk and compliance with customer Credit rules.
  • Advises on local balance sheet liabilities structure and a dividend pay out policy for the company.
  • He or She advises the company on the account and financial consequences of operations for effective decision making to maximize return on business
  • Develop strategic financial initiatives for the organization in the manner that will assist in achieving the company’s objectives.
  • Work with other members of the executive team to develop financial and implement growth initiative and objectives.
  • Ensure that the annual accounts and statutory report are prepared timely, accurately and in accordance with company, National and International
  • Will be in charge of legal matters and will relate with the Head of the Company’s Legal Group in the Headquarters.
  • Initiate and coordinate the formulation of business plans and budgets and monitor progress towards their achievement.
  • Will function as the Secretary to the Board of Directors.
  • Control the operating expenses and capital expenditure program operational performance efficiency
  • Will have a functional relationship with Group Finance Body at the headquarters and will be required to make trips abroad.
  • He/She will report to the Managing Director of the Company

 

Remuneration

This is in line with conditions obtainable in the Marketing and Sales Industry in Nigeria.
