John Snow, Inc. (JSI) is a US based international public health consulting firm and manages two projects/contracts through its integrated office in Abuja, Nigeria. Through the Partnership for Supply Chain Management consortium, JSI implements the Supply Chain Management System (SCMS) project for the US Government as part of the United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The purpose is to establish and operate a safe, secure, reliable and sustainable supply chain management system to procure pharmaceuticals and other products needed for the care and treatment of persons living with HIV and related infections. JSI implements the USAID / DELIVER Project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a global technical assistance project aimed at increasing the availability of essential health supplies through procurement services and assistance designed to strengthen health commodity supply chains in developing countries.
To support the implementation of the health supply chain project in Nigeria, JSI is seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:
Position: IT Consultant (Lagos)
Position Description
This position is for a period of four months and will be based in Lagos. Under the guidance of the Director Systems Strengthening, the IT Consultant will manage the IT infrastructure and support the technical and administrative personnel of CMS Oshodi, Lagos.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure and maintain a stable, secure, and robust IT network infrastructure
2. Perform network configuration and resolve problems with infrastructure support software both at the server and user level
3. Provide software installation, user training and support to users and on job training for users
4. Install new software releases and perform system upgrades
5. Evaluate and install patches
6. Provide both first and second level support, responding to problems, implementing planned changes, and managing projects
7. Ensure user satisfaction
8. Review IT needs and make recommendations as necessary to the supervisor
9. Develop strategies for maintaining and advancing the IT Infrastructure
10. Ensure proper execution of such advancement projects
11. Supervise outside contractors
12. Prepare and submit reports of activities
Minimum Skills and Qualification
Applicants for this position should be Nigerian nationals or residents who possess the following minimum skills and qualification:
- B.Sc. degree in IT related sciences
- At least 5 years of network administration and IT related experience
- Hands on experience with MSupply software is an added advantage
- Proficiency working with Windows 20012 Server, Microsoft Office suite 2013, Windows 7
- Strong background in IT, should be experienced in terms of software installation, user training, support to users and on the job training for users
- Ability to take initiative, work in groups, serve as a team player and exhibit traits of courtesy, cooperation, respect, and customer service
- Excellent verbal and written English

Position: Project Accountant (Abuja)
Position Description:
Under the guidance of the Director Finance and Administration, the Project Accountant will manage JSI’s field accounts system. S/he will be based in Abuja.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the JSI field accounts system, review chart of accounts, generate QB reports as needed for project reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Regularly update QuickBooks, prepare bank account reconciliation and resolve account variances in compliance with all US Government (USG) and JSI financial management and accounting policies and regulations
- Process expense reports, travel advances and retirements; prepare vouchers, review receipts and other supporting documentation to ensure accuracy before forwarding for payment
- Ensure that timesheets for local project staff are properly completed, approved monthly, and maintain employee leave balances
- Prepare local staff payroll and accompanying schedules (tax, pension) and ensure compliance with all project legal requirements, including employee taxes, pension fund contributions and VAT exemptions
- Ensure that all financial transactions are completed with high degree of accuracy, in full compliance with USG and JSI requirements, and within established timelines
- Assist the Director of Finance in the analysis, development, and documentation of internal processes and controls and ensure compliance with all USG and JSI financial management and accounting policies and regulations
- Ensure timely and responsive communication with the JSI HQ based field office support staff and assist with the development and monitoring of the project budget
- Reconcile and track outstanding advances, update inventory logs, monitor projects expenses and track expenditures and accruals
- Provide support and guidance to program and other administrative staff in accordance with JSI policy and procedures
- Travel to field offices, training sites and other field locations when required
- Develop and maintain an effective professional relationship with JSI’s local banking institutions
- Engage in financial and related tasks as required by the Director of Finance
Minimum Skills and Qualification
Applicants for this position should be Nigerian nationals or residents who possess the following minimum skills and qualification:
- Advanced (post B.A.) degree in Accounting and/or Financial Management
- At least 3 years of financial experience
- Experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience and knowledge of Nigerian tax laws
- Financial experience with a USAID-funded project and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations would be an advantage
- Ability to take initiative and to work in teams
- Excellent verbal and written English
