Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Manager (HIV)

Location: Abuja

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the M&E Coordinator, will be responsible for the design, implementation and supervision of monitoring and evaluation activities for the HIV/AIDS control activities at the LGA and State level with primary focus on the community-based activities.
  • Coordinate and provide technical assistance for the implementation of M&.E activities for the HIV projects at the LGA and states levels and strengthen community involvement and participation in the OVC, Family  Life and HIV education and NYSC RH and HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support project activities
  • Work directly with the implementing partners (community-based  organizations), LGA and State program coordinators to facilitate the implementation of high quality M&E  systems for OVC, FLHE and NYSC RH and HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support activities
  • Work with local partners to support the correct implementation and use of  monitoring and evaluation tools, and adherence to complete, correct and timely reporting as well as prepare and review reports from sub-recipients program staff etc.
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure synergy relevant to the implementation and documentation of HIV activities at the community, LGA, state and national levels.
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, including the conduct of data quality assurance  using standard tools, assist in the preparation of quarterly reports, and provide supportive supervision
  • Provide direct technical, assistance and capacity building in the design and implementation of the program/project monitoring and evaluation activities in the communities served.
  • Develop, review and ensure correct implementation of the HIV M&E plan as a subset of national M&E plan.
  • Ensure that M&E strategies are implemented according to plan
  • Develop and/or adapt, monitor the use of and inform necessary modification to M&E tools.
  • Participate in project assessments, evaluations and design teams when required
  • Represent and make presentations at professional meetings and conferences related to monitoring and  Evaluation activities.

 

Qualification

  • Applicants must possess MBBS with MPH or Master’s degree in Social Science or Medical Statistics is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 5 years post National Youth Corp experience, including 3-5 years experience in monitoring and evaluation in an NGO environment. A sound knowledge of statistics and epidemiology, computer literacy and experience working with local partners, including local NGOs  and CBOs and knowledge of the local context is highly desirable. Experience with Global Fund/USAID Funded programs will be preferred. Experience must reflect the Knowledge, skill and abilities listed above.

 

Position: Project Finance Officer

 

Location: Sokoto

Specific-Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the project manager, take lead in the preparation of work plans/budgets, and tracking of budgets.
  • Maintain working relationship with all sub-recipients and ensure timely receipt of all reports expected from them.
  • Attend to all fund requests from sub-recipients  (S.R.).
  • Supervise the Finance Assistant and ensure all office financial transactions inventory and logistics arrangement for workshops meetings, etc are efficiently managed.
  • Review retirements from SRs and conduct regular visits for compliance with generally acceptable accounting practice.
  • Prepare accurate, regular and timely financial reports for submission to the donor using the QuickBooks  accounting systems. These include monthly transaction reports, Quarterly financial reports, Trial balance, staff  and consultants advance status reports and variance analysis report,
  • Prepare necessary audit-schedules including Trial balance. Balance sheets ,details of asset and liabilities for the conduct of the annual audits and assist in follow up on the disposal of audit observations and recommendations
  • Maintain contacts with the Principal Recipient (PR), banks, contractors, hotels, auditors, tax authorities etc
  • Manage all project assets to ensure proper usage and timely payment of insurance premium.
  • Assist in continuous technical assistance and training of sub-sub-recipients.

 

Qualification

  • Candidate must be a chartered accountant (ACA or ACCA) with First degree/HND in Accounting or other related social science courses. Also required is a minimum of five years working experience, strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks. excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication. Experience in managing USAID grants and familiarity with Nigerian tfGOs contractual pt ?w enhance applicant’s chances grants and  Familiarity with local tradition and language is highly desirable.
