Vacancies: Operations Manager, Research Manager
Our client is a financial sector development organization that promotes financial inclusion in Nigeria. The Organization was established in 2007, with a vision to be the leader in facilitating the emergence of an all-inclusive and growth-promoting financial system.
As part of efforts to expand its operations, the Organization has identified a need to recruit suitably qualified and competent candidates to fill the following positions, which will be based in Lagos:
Position: Operations Manager (ES023)
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for all Operations, Administration, and Human Resources, whilst ensuring operational efficiency within the Organization. Specifically, the candidate will:
- Review and implement new operational systems and processes that will maximize the Organization’s operational efficiency.
- Implement an effective administrative system.
- Assess staff training needs, source relevant programmes and monitor staff performance post-training.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive project monitoring and reporting system.
- Ensure that all asset procurements and disposals conform with the Organization’s policies and procedures.
- Manage the insurance administration process to ensure the Organization has the required insurance coverage at all times.
- Conduct induction training for new staff.
- Liaise and manage external support staff.
- Oversee the implementation of health and safety requirements.
Qualifications, experience and attributes
- A good first degree in Economics, Business Administration or any Social Sciences from a reputable institution.
- A master’s degree or relevant professional qualification(s) will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of six (6) years’ relevant experience, with at least three (3) years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of donor funded operations will be an added advantage.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
Position: Research Manager (ES024)
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for providing accurate, credible, and relevant market information on the Nigerian financial sector. Specifically, the candidate will:
- Manage and coordinate the implementation of the Organization’s specialized surveys and scoping studies.
- Manage research projects and market research firms.
- Monitor progress of research projects against agreed timelines and milestones.
- Actively participate in all field research, and ensure adherence to agreed data collection methodology.
- Provide robust analyses of the data/results of surveys and scoping studies conducted.
- Present research findings in a compelling and insightful manner to the relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain active relationships with academia, and as appropriate, support researchers working on access to finance related projects.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
- A good first degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or Statistics from a reputable institution.
- A master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Anthropology, International Development, Public Policy or related field will be an advantage.
- A minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience, with at least five (5) years in conducting research and managing research firms.
- Strong experience/capability in qualitative and quantitative research methods with extensive experience in conducting fieldwork and designing research guides, survey tools and questionnaires.
- Strong analytical and modeling skills.
- Excellent computer skills and experience in using statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, etc.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
