The West African Examinations Council, a sub-regional organization responsible for the conduct of a variety of examinations in the English-speaking Wrest African countries, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the positions below in its Nigeria National Office and Lagos Department of its Headquarters Research Division.
Position: Purchasing/Procurement Officer
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) from a recognized University and must be Associate Members of the Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management of Nigeria
Should have a minimum of three years post professional qualification experience.
Position: Senior Public Affairs Officer /Public Affairs Officer
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Mass Communication (at least Second Class Lower Division), from a recognized University with at least three years experience in the Public Affairs Department of a reputable organization or in the editorial or reportorial department of a reputable media outfit.
Possession of a higher degree and membership of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will be an added advantage.
Applicants who have not majored in Mass Communication but who possess graduate diplomas in Mass Communication are also eligible.
Applicants for the post of Senior Public Affair Officer must have a minimum of six years post qualification experience.
Applicants for all positions must:
- Be able to use personal computers, office software packages and have knowledge of web-based systems
- Be self motivated and able to write good reports; analyse and review research reports; be able to work extra hours with little or no supervision
- Be a team player with good Inter personal skills; be open and able to lead change Possess influencing skills
- Be an organizer/planner with ability to be flexible and a finisher with ability to successfully implement ideas
- Possess analytical and communication skills
NB: Applicants for all positions must (in addition to their degrees and professional qualifications) possess five credits including English Language and Mathematics at a sitting in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE “O” Level or six credits including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings in WASSC’E/SSCE/GCE “O” Level.
Applicants should not be more than 30 years of age as at the close of applications except those for the positions of Senior Purchasing/ Procurement Officer, Senior Legal Officer and Senior Public Affairs Officer who should not be more than 35 years.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Sc (at least Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science or a related field from a recognized University and be Microsoft Certified System Administrators.
Position: Network Administrators
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should possess a minimum of B.Sc ( at least Second Class Lower Division) in Computer Science or a related field IV recognized University.
- In addition applicants must be Certified Network Administrators with at least three years qualification experience in a Local Area Network (LAN) environment.
