The Advertiser is developing a new conference, tourist, recreational and museum centre as well as a national archive for the preservation of presidential documents, curatorial materials and other historic items, located in Abeokuta. Ogun State Nigeria
The development of the Centre has reached advanced completion stages and is in need of matured, capable minds and hands to start and manage operations. The Centre is currently looking to recruit an experienced Business Manager to oversee and develop the running of key business units.
The ideal candidate must be a team player, dynamic and require minimal supervision. Salary package is attractive but negotiable
Position: Business Manager
Duties will include:
1. Setting up a robust and effective business strategy for the units of the centre
2. Maximise the output and performance of key business units and products
3. Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities and ensure that strategy is set and realised by each team.
4. Actively seek ways to develop, learn and implement best practice processes and procedures to continually improve the performance of key units and products.
Qualifications
- Minimum MBA or equivalent in Marketing, Economics or Business Administration
- Between 15 to 25 years cognate experience
- Not more than 50 years of age
- Membership of professional body is added advantage
- Must be computer literate and conversant With the most basic Business Management/Accounting software and programmes
- Ability to be effective in a team and independently is a major advantage
- History of successfully managing business growth and a team of people/ proven track record within a similar role.
- Have excellent networking abilities, strong influencing and persuasion skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to deliver challenging financial targets; while producing profitability
