ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) is one of ActionAid Country Programmes, ActionAid is an International Non-Governmental organization registered in The Netherlands and headquartered in Johannesburg South Africa. ActionAid international works in 50 countries in Africa. Asia. Europe, Australia and the Americas 22 of these country programmes, affiliates or associates are in Africa and are led by Africans. We have been doing development work on the continent since 1972 and in Nigeria since 1999. ActionAid works with the poor and excluded in Africa, promoting values and commitment in civil society, institutions and governments with the aim of achieving structural changes in order to eradicate injustices and poverty in the world.

 

To effectively remain proactive and consolidate on the country strategy, AAN is inviting applications from qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

 

Position:     Capacity Building Technical Advisor (Benue)

(Enhancing Nigeria’s Response to HIV/AIDS (ENR)

 

Duration

One year six months fixed term non renewable contract.

 

Person Specifications

Education/Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Arts or Humanities Is essential.
  • Post graduate degree in a relevant field is desirable.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years working experience preferably in the social development field is essential
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position is essential
  • Experience in working with HIV/AIDS related Civil Society Organization in the area of capacity building and prevention is essential

 

Skill/Abilities

  • Demonstrable computer application skill is essential
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skill is essential
  • Excellent oral and written communication skill is essential
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical and documentation skills are essential

 

Personal Qualities

  • Ability to creatively take initiative.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
  • Willingness and ability to travel at short notice

 

 

Position: Policy, Advocacy and Gender Technical Advisor (Ogun)

(Enhancing Nigeria’s Response to HIV/AIDS (ENR)

Duration

One year six months fixed term non renewable contract.

 

Person Specifications:

Education/Qualifications:

  • Degree in Social Sciences, Arts or Humanities is essential.
  • Post graduate degree in a relevant field is desirable.

 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years working experience preferably in the social development field is essential
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position is essential
  • Experience in working to influence the Nigerian policy environment as it relates with Gender and HIV/AIDS is essential
  • Experience in HIV Prevention and Gender mainstreaming is desirable

  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, documentation and presentation skills is essential
  • Excellent Skills in policy analysis and interpretation is essential
