The Umaru Musa Yar’adua University was established by the Katsina State Law No 7 of 2006 as amended by Law No. 2 of 2009.

The mission of the Umaru Musa Yar’adua University is to produce well grounded, sound, God-fearing and entrepreneurially minded graduates equipped with problem-solving and other skills attuned to the demands of the 21st century environment, who can be self-employed, and whose skills and knowledge would accelerate community development in particular and nation building in general through the regular and distance education modes using information and communication technology as a tool, thereby widening access to higher education significantly

 

In its effort to accomplish its vision and mission, the University Management on behalf of the Governing Council, is hereby soliciting for applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the positions below:

 

Position:     Deputy Registry (Department of Registry) CONTISS 14

Job specification:

  • Provide leadership in the management of the University
  • Display maturity and good human relations
  • Show initiative and high sense of responsibility
  • Demonstrate ability to use computer
  • Interpret and apply the University law and other related laws, rules regulations and procedures
  • Show ability for effective job planning and implementation
  • Carry out other Administrative duties as may be assigned: and
  • Provide professional and community service.

 

The Right Candidate

  • A candidate shall possess a Bachelors degree not below second class and a Master Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration or Management, with fifteen (15) years of University administrative or other relevant experience in a similar organization, play a major role in the administrative leadership of the University, show evidence of contribution to the University management as well as use and application of computer and be of good character.

 

 

Position:     Catering Officer/House Keeper CONTISS 07

Job specification:

  • Responsible to the Registrar
  • Provide leadership for the University Cooks/Stewards
  • See to the cleanliness and good maintenance of the University Guest Houses
  • Ensure sale custody of kitchen utensis, cutleries beddings and other appliances in the Guest House
  • Ensure effective and efficient service delivery to meetings/ occasions
  • Perform any other related that the management may assign from time to time

 

The Right Candidate

  • A candidate shall possess a National Diploma in catering and Hotel Management not below lower credit from a recognized institution plus at least six (6) years cognate experience or a holder of HND in relevant field with three (3) years cognate experience and be of good character
