Position: Director of Administration
Duties/Job Description
Successful candidate shall be:
- Responsible to the Chief Medical Director for the day to day general administration of the Teaching Hospital
- The chief Administrative adviser to Chief Medical director on general administrative matters
- Taking charge of the general administration of the administrative department
- Participating in formulation, execution and review of policies as directed by the chief Medical Director and/or the Board.
- Coordinating the activities of support departments in the hospital
- Secretary to the Board of Management
- Conduct the correspondence of the Board and keep the records of the hospital
- Perform such other functions as the Board of the chief Medical Director, as the case may be, may from time to time assigned to him/her
Qualifications and Experience
- Candidates must possess a good honours degree in any of the disciplines of social Sciences or Humanities from a recognized university or its equivalent, and must be a member of Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria.
- Candidates must have had not less than twenty (20) years post qualification experience. Candidate should be in the grade of Assistant Director of Administration in a Teaching Hospital or other similar/Comparable institution(s). In other words, candidate below the rank of Deputy Director/Assistant Director of Administration (i.e CONHEss 14) presently need not apply.
- Possession of Masters Degree or any relevant higher degrees or possession of Masters Degree or any postgraduate professional qualifications in Hospital Management or any of the disciplines specified in (i) above would be an added advantage.
Salary
CONHESS 15/1 = (N4,222,544.00 P.A)
Other allowances are applicable to that obtainable in other Federal University Teaching Hospitals in the country.
Tenure
The DA shall hold office for a period of a maximum of eight (8) years only from the effective date of appointment, provided the officer does not attain the mandatory retirement age of 60 years of service earlier and on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
