Division Manager (Commercial / Business Development) in an Engineering Company

Our client, a major Engineering Company with international affiliation providing engineering and project management services to major Oil & Gas companies in Nigeria and the regional West African market, is seeking to recruit a qualified and competent Nigerian candidate for the following position:

 

Position: Division Manager (Commercial / Business Development) Ref: (CTOOT)

 

Objective:

This role reports to the Managing Director/CEO, and is solely in charge of the Commercial and Business Development Division of the company and responsible for ensure the achievement of revenue and gross margin targets or the Division

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure development of sustainable relationships with clients throughout the business or life cycle (from the initial stage of tendering, contracts development, project execution and through closeout)
  • Ensure compliance by partners and subcontractors with company polices.
  • Manage, lead and/or assist as required in the strategy development and actual negotiation of technical, commercial and contractual issues with clients and align with corporate policies.
  • Identify, review and negotiate Engineering Services Agreements with clients and align with corporate policies.
  • Work closely with Project managers/Head of Projects to identify project  needs for commercial and technical engagement, and define acceptable parameter and limitations in the acquisition and execution of those projects
  • Keep update of working procedures in line with local needs and corporate policy
  • Develop commercial and technical strategy for all major tenders and project acquisition targets.

 

Requirements

  • A first degree in Engineering
  • Minimum of 20 years experience (10 years must be in business development function) in Oil and Gas industry including on/offshore or subsea facilities
  • Project management experience is an added advantage
  • Must be able to develop and maintain a complete understanding of the business environment, market trends, drivers and issues that will impact the organisations business
  • Strong Business Development capabilities
  • A proven track record of Market Analysis and Business Acumen at a senior level
  • Strong technical economics skills, specifically in relation to quantitative and statistical analysis
  • Must have in-depth competency and experience at dealing with regulatory authorities in the Oil & Gas sector
