A Foundation for  Empowerment, Poverty Alleviation and  Education, based in Lagos and whose goal is principally to render service, to the  society for greater good and positively impact on the  life  of the  less  privilege, have vacancy for an:

 

Position: Executive Secretary

Job Summary

The Executive Secretary of the Foundation shall report to the Chairman/CEO of the Foundation. She will be a key member of the Foundation’s senior leadership team, working closely with the Chairman, the Board of Directors, and the Development Staff to secure the funds needed to advance the objectives of the Foundation, As a lead Strategist, she shall create and execute a multi-year plan for increasing voluntary revenue, which will support the Foundation’s aggressive plan for growth in the years to come.

 

Duties:

  • Responsible for day to day running of the Foundation
  • Drive the Policy thrust of the Foundation and ensures that the Foundation does not derail from its objectives
  • Liaise with government agencies and donors for the work of the Foundation Oversees the Foundation’s development team, charged with the responsibility for fund raising, marketing and events
  • Work with the Chairman as well as individual Board members, as appropriate to best cultivate relationships
  • Identify and build relationships with all sources that are viable for developing partnerships
  • Work in concert with appropriate volunteer community leaders and professional staff to coordinate successful strategic and tactical plans
  • Oversee proper management of an accurate and up-to-date donor database to ensure acknowledgements, recognition and proper stewardship
  • Develop a team of high performers by providing comprehensive leadership, accountability, and mentoring to the staff individually and collectively
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors to encourage individual Board members and leverage members’ network and experience
  • Adhere to the  Foundation’s performance standards,  internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Abilities

  • The ideal candidate must be a visionary thought leader, who can productively leverage contributions of others
  • Highly professional and able to work successfully with a wide variety of constituents including donors, Board, volunteers e.t.c.
  • Flexible, compassionate and possess strong sense of commitment to address practicalities of a growing non profit organisation
  • She must have an entrepreneurial spirit, must be a creative and critical thinker
  • Able to work without supervision, to manage multiple priorities
  • She must be passionate about improving people’s condition, patient and tolerant

 

Qualification

  • The ideal candidate must be a Doctorate Degree holder preferably in the Social Sciences or Community Development Work
  • Must have had about 10 years experience running an NGO
  • The ideal candidate must be a Female
