A Ship Agency located in Lagos with branches across Nigeria and Africa with specialization in tanker operations has vacancy for qualified candidate
Position Human Resource Manager.
The Requirement
The ideal candidate should have or meet the following;
- Minimum of B.Sc in any social sciences
- Minimum of five (5) years Human Resource Management experience, preferably within the Shipping industry
- Professional membership (Associate or above of the chartered institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN)
- Working knowledge of labour legislations
- Fluency in English and French Languages with computer literacy .
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure
Tasks
- Serve as a link between management and employees
- Analyze and modify compensation and benefits policies to establish competitive programs and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as employment opportunity etc
- Perform difficult staffing duties including dealing with understaffing, refereeing disputes, firing employees and administering disciplinary procedures
- Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude towards organizational objectives
- Identify vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants
- Represent organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
- Handle community relation issues arising from the host community
- Organize training programmes for employees from time to time
