The Maternal Newborn and Child Health (MNCH) initiative is a 5-year Aid Programme which operates alongside the PRRINN programme that focuses on strengthening routine immunization in four Northern Nigerian   States.   The   MNCH   programme   aims   to   address the unacceptable high rates of maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality in selected Northern Nigerian States. This programme is funded by the Norwegian Government in partnership with the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and is operated by a   consortium   of   three   organizations,   namely:   Health   Partners

International UK, Save the Children, UK and GRID Consulting Nigeria.

 

The joint programme collaborates with stakeholders in the health sector as well as civil societies to provide quantifiable improvements to the PHC systems in Northern Nigeria. PRRINN-MNCH is managed by a team of internationally recruited professionals. Its programme activities are carried out in Jigawa, Katsina, Yobe and Zamfara with coordination from the programme head office in Kano. The programme seeks to recruit qualified professionals to fill the vacant positions as identified below:

 

Position: National Logistics Assistant: Kano

 

The National Logistics Assistant (NLA) will be based in the National office. This person will report directly to the National Logistics Officer and provide support in coordinating general programme logistics in the National office. The NLA will assist coordinate logistics activities; including travel arrangements, hotel reservations, booking of venues for workshops and airport pick-ups. S/he will maintain cordial relationships with service providers and suppliers as well as coordinate their activities. The NLA will also provide support in the maintenance of office facilities/vehicles and coordinate the itinerary of programme drivers.


Qualification:

  • The ideal candidate must hold a graduate degree in any discipline of the arts, humanities or the Social Sciences.
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar rote is required for this position.
  • A good knowledge of the Northern region and ability to communicate fluently in Hausa language is essential for this position.
  • S/he must be proficient in the use of computer and also possess good management, interpersonal and coordination skills.

 

 

Position: National Office Clerk: Kano

 

The National Office Clerk will provide support for all clerical services in the office of National Programme Manager and other principal officers. S/he will also assist and ensure a smooth running of the office secretariat services.

 

 

Qualification:

  • The candidate must hold a minimum of a diploma in secretariat studies, social sciences or related disciplines with two (2) year’s relevant experience Is required for this position. S/he must be proficient in computer and have excellent communication, coordination and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate fluently in Hausa is essential for this position.

 

 

Position: Front Desk Officers: Kano, Katsina

 

  • The ideal candidate will carry out a full range secretarial and reception duties. S/he will be actively responsible for all hospitality arrangement and upkeep of the office at all times in order to promote a conducive and effective office environment Occasionally, s/he will be required to provide support to the admin/logistics staff in coordinating workshops and meetings that may arise.

 

Qualification:

  • A minimum of a Bachelors’ degree in Secretarial studies or other related discipline with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role. S/he must be proficient in relevant computer applications and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate in Hausa is desirable for this position.

 

 

Terms of Employment:

These appointments will be for a short term contract up one year. The programme offers highly competitive salary packages. However, local terms and conditions are applicable.
