Vacancies: Officer (Voice, Accountability, and Advocacy), M&E/Knowledge Manager Advisor, Immunization Advisor

A mission driven International Organization and global leader in research, technical assistance, and program Implementation across more than 40 countries worldwide in the fields of health, social / environmental policy, and International development seeks qualified candidates to compliment our current teams in the expansion of activities focused on improving planning, financing and delivery of sustainable and replicable pro poor health services for common health problems in northern Nigeria. The program works towards achieving better public healthcare services across the country by shifting the emphasis from curative to preventive health care, increasing training of staff, introducing new incentive packages to retain doctors and nurses in the poorest areas, enhancing the speed and efficiency in which the flow of drugs are managed across all states, and the overall improvement of government planning and management.

We seek candidates for the following positions listed below based in Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina, Niger, Zamfara, and Yobe (1 position per state).

Position: Voice, Accountability, and Advocacy Officer –

Provide direction, leadership, and on­going assessment of the project’s social policy and demand and accountability components including activities to support strategic planning, analysis and interpretation of policy related developments, and the allocation of resources at the state level. Advise on inter-sectoral and donor coordination of demand and accountability activities. Provide practical hands-on recommendations and support at the state level to develop project partner implementing agencies’ skills, technical capacity and competencies at the state level in the key area of demand, rights, voice and accountability and participatory development approaches.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or other relevant field. At least eight (8) years of demonstrated experience managing large community participation projects, or other relevant experience. Experience in social development policy concepts including: gender, social inclusion, voice   accountability,   rights-based   development, demand-side approaches, civil society strengthening. Proven facilitation, training and/or teaching skills with policy analysis experience and demonstrated experience developing strategies with a strong focus on behavioral and attitudinal change communication theories.

 

Position: M&E/Knowledge Manager Advisor

Design and develop specific M&E plans and program-level indicators for activities in specified states. In collaboration with DFID, SLPs and other donor programs, develop, track and monitor indicators related to project performance. Assist in the development and/or adaptation of M&E tools, metrics, resources and processes in key thematic areas across outputs of the program. Collaborate with NGOs, DFID, and other SLPs and line ministries to support the implementation of state M&E strategies. Support training of staff and clients in the use of M&E and KM products, tools and resources. Maintain an accurate up-to-date records and flow of information related to M&E, KM and the overall implementation of the program at the state level, including a web-based electronic archive.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health or other relevant field. At least eight (8) years of experience in M&E and knowledge management, preferably for donor-funded public health programs. Excellent computer skills, including keyboarding, Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), ACCESS, PowerPoint, SPSS, and health-related software packages such as DHIS. Significant experience in writing research for publication, presenting / disseminating research findings to public health and policy professionals.

 

Position:  Immunization Advisor

Lead in the development of immunization strategies and approaches while ensuring the achievement of strategic results in line with program objectives.   Provide technical advice and assistance in the planning and management of the Immunization program and ensure sustainability of interventions. Exercise technical leadership for, and participate in, the development of the results-based sectorial work plan and technical decisions as related to immunization.  Oversee the collection, analysis and evaluation of immunization information. Provide expert guidance and technical support to governments and NGOs at the state level in the planning development and implementation stages of the program. Coordinate with the state team on service delivery activities.

Ensure program efficiency and delivery through rigorous and transparent approaches to program planning, monitoring and evaluation.

Coordinate activities and exchange information and knowledge sharing with other state programs.

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, Epidemiology, or other fields relevant to immunization. At least eight (8) years of professional work experience in the development,   planning,   programming,   implementation,   monitoring,   evaluation   and management of immunization programs. Experience providing technical assistance and support in the areas of logistics, supply chain management, and cold chain with proven skills in communication, networking, advocacy and negotiation desired.

 

Note

All candidates must have a minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant discipline, prior donor-funded experience related to health, and an outstanding professional reputation.
